    Hey guys.

I'm using 1.01 of the S4 software. I've had persistent issues trying to access the update to Traktor 2, but that's another story.

I'm having difficulty in making beatgrids stick. I use one track as a master reference, line another track up, hold down shift - sync, and the beatgrid moves as it should. I press 'lock'. When I load the track again, it no longer aligns with the reference track. ARRRGHH!

Any ideas guys? Or is this issue fixed in the T2 update?

Don't use another track, and don't use shift-sync.

Just let Traktor calculate the right BPM, then zoom in on the track and place the grid marker at the very start of the beat. Scroll through the track and adjust the grid if neccesary. If you're done, lock the track. It's the easiest way to do it. I grid my tracks within seconds that way.

    That's strange.

it USED to work, and I had my entire library synced perfectly against this one reference track. But my computer got wiped, and now the Shift-Sync function won't work at all.

One reason why I used Shift-Sync, is that I could grid new tracks on-the-fly. Also, it's difficult to pinpoint the correct beats in the waveforms of high-tempo tracks with broken beats, and offbeat electronica. I found that mixing the tracks by ear, and then simply shift-syncing, was perfect for that.

So does the Shift-Sync feature work at all, as it says it does in the manual?
