    I bought Arturia Beatstep and would like to connect it as a slave. It’s extremely simple in Ableton Live, but I don’t know how to do it in Maschine.

    Ableton Live example: http://www.arturia.com/downloads/support/howto/pdf/BeatStep/[BeatStep]_Synchronize_With_Live.pdf

    I asked Arturia support for help, but instead of giving me a solution, they send me an overview of parameters. Now I still don’t know how to get Beatstep to run as slave with Maschine.

    Arturia answer:
    BeatStep transmit MIDI only for these parameters:
    1. MIDI OUT:
    Knobs can send all CC or NRPN/RPN message.
    All CC message could be set as abolute or relative.
    PAD can send MMC Switched Control Midi Note or patch change.
    BeatStep sends MIDI clock messages to both MIDI out
    and USB MID
    ==> Velocity
    ==> Aftertouch
    ==> The keys
    Default key are mapped on
    PAD 1 = G#1
    PAD 2 = A1
    PAD 3 = A#1
    PAD 4 =B1
    PAD 5 =C2
    PAD 6 =C#2
    PAD 7 =D2
    PAD 8 =D#2
    PAD 9 =C1
    PAD 10 =C#1
    PAD 11 =D1
    PAD 12 =D#1
    PAD 13 =E1
    PAD 14 =F1
    PAD 15 =F#1
    PAD 16 =G1

    2. MIDI IN:
    Only via USB.
    ==> Velocity
    ==> The clock
    MIDI clock sync woks via USB only.

    Can anyone help me with this?
    Thanks!

    1. Install any drivers for BeatStep and connect it via USB
    2. Start Maschine
    3. In Audio/MIDI settings (File > Audio and MIDI settings...), turn on the MIDI output for the BeatStep, which should show in the output sub-tab of the MIDI tab
    4. Turn on Send MIDI clock (File > Send MIDI clock)
    5. Press play
    Report back if that doesn't work. From memory, that should do the trick... I think.
