    Hi guys,

    I'm very new to recording.

Just a quick question about Kontakt 7 LE.

I currently use Adobe Audition (Yes..I know but it's easy to use).

Can I use Kontakt 7 LE with this for some piano sounds. I don't have a midi keyboard and Adone Audition doesn't use VST's. I suppose what I mean is can I use Kontakt as a stand along system?

Last time I checked Audition could load VSTs...

I have version 1 which doesn't have VST compatability.

Does my DAW have to be VST compatible?

Yep, either that, or ReWire compatible. Better to be VST compatible, though. Update your DAW.

    Thanks for that.

Yeah, time for an update : )

But I can use Kontakt LE without a midi keyboard?

    Thanks again for your help.

You can, but it's not recommended. If Audition has something like piano roll, you can use that.

Was thinking of getting a Digidesign Mbox with Protools LE. Probably a better idea?

I suggest steering away from Avid. Try Reaper first, beats the hell out of Protools LE. ;)

And only $40! What's the catch? lol.

So... (sorry this sreally is my last question)....

I could Reaper with Kontakt LE and not need a midi keyboard...i.e. just use Reapers Piano thingy? Yes, I am very new to this but am keen to learn.

    Thanks ;)

Yes you can, but I would recommend that you save up any money you get for Christmas to buy a MIDI keyboard.

    Cool will do.

Any recommendations on a cheap and cheerful usable one?
