wOOt!! Looking extremely forward to this console now... would be very interested on if and when your unit arrives Phil, give us the lowdown when it does bud. I'm gonna get one anyway, just all this waiting around for it. Need the crossfader action. Be great for my track compostion too as a new tool - can't crossfade with a vertical fader, and can't deal with turning the BCF2000 on its side - just not the same.

    Ok all.

I ordered mine from musik produktiv (http://www.musik-produktiv.de/shop/shop01_en.asp/sid/!06082002) here in Germany, but they ship Europe-wide.

I've had a chance to play with it, and I adore the little guy. There are a few tiny gripes, but overall its a really great little unit. I will write up a better report, with some pictures when i knock off work this evening.

ohhhh, was going to go out this weekend and finally get t3 and was going to go with a bcr2000(for effect control) with a m-audio quattro card and use my current 4 channel mixer.

now i am at a complete loss as to what to do!!

quick question. can I use two bcd2000's together to control 4 decks or will I need to forget about the extra two and just use two decks of the four, or will I be better of just getting traktor 2 and one bcd2000?

or just get a bcd2000 and use the included software? (sacrilige!)

As far as I can tell with the software, you should be able to use two BCD2000s, since the MIDI setup page in Traktor allows you to use 2 or more MIDI devices anyway. Only one issue though, by the looks of the BCD2000 manual on Behringer site, the BCD2000 has MIDI CC controls but no MIDI channel setup - might cause a problem, but don't know for sure - Traktor might pick up the info ok anyway. I'll be interested in seeing if anyone does setup with 2x BCD2000s with Traktor, I'm planning on BCD with BCF or BCR as another control source, unless 2 BCDs can be used side by side - that would be proper siik

    this is it thou.

    2 bcd2000 or 1 bcd2000, 1 bcr/f2000 and ANOTHER soundcard to use 4 channels correctly.

evern 2x bcd2000 need a futher product between them and an amp (unless you have an amp with more than one input.)

As promised a few sample pictures of the unit. I'm still trying to get around to mapping out everything in traktor. I've asked behringer if they can send me a preset file, and i got this response

    Dear Sir,

we are currently working on a template for NI Traktor - it'll be free for download from our webpage as soon as it'll be ready!

Till then it is recommended to use the MIDI Learn function of the BCD2000 to assign the functions by yourself.

    Kind regards

    BEHRINGER Customer Support

So thats really cool! It works like a gem in the "xylio" software that comes with the unit.

    more soon....

A couple of thoughts for those wondering about 2 controllers for 4 decks.

1/ If the BCD2000 is programmable and can do on the fly presets like the BCR2000 then you could create presets for Deck A, B Deck C, D Deck A, C Deck A, D & Deck B, C and just cycle through as needed.

2/ I've not played with Midi and Hotkey pages so I don't know for sure if this will work but you could assign Decks A, B on Page 1 Decks C, D on Page 2 and flip between hot key or midi pages.

    Just some out loud specu-thoughting.
BTW my controller, he not arrive yet, me think not today, so me think not want to pay overnight shipping. Still the whole afternoon to go though.

    ME TOOOOO! received this morning.

But i'm in a big trouble to configure the BCD2000 for Tracktor.
How can I configure the jog and bend buttons?

Bend button, when I try "learn function" in Traktor only print "note ???". And about the "pitch bend/cue search" jog, How to use it under Traktor ?

I use a demo version of Tracktor 3 before buy to be sure all work well. Is it some MIDI configuration limitation too ?

    Regards,
    Mad

How to use "MIDI Learn function of the BCD2000" ??? is it a software for that? or a procedure ? Because leran function of Traktor can't be used for many buttons.

    Best Regards,
    Mad

Guys there is a lot of Midi programming and experimentation that is going to be needed to make it work! I have looked at the pitch wheels and have not yet found a way to make pitch work.

If you are planning on buying one soon and don't want to have to do considerable experimenting and possibly not get the pitch wheels to work immeidiately then DON'T buy a BCD2000... YET. I'm not expecting to see a Behringer supplied TKS file anytime soon. Time to load up Midi Monitor and see what values are being output by CC19 and 18, the pitch wheels.

    Same here !
I've been trying to program the controller via Traktor Learn key, without success.
Have a couple of buttons working, some of the knobs but for some reason Decks A & B don't behave symetrically !!!
(ie somethong working on A is not on B even though programming is the same).
    Wheels remain definitly silent.
Have also experimented a lot of freezes/crashes ...

    siik siik siik

Gonna get mine when I get paid. Will look into the jog wheel thing too, see what is happening when using in Cubase or something (if it's note on/off CC etc.)

    Looking forward to it already!!

    Hi Phil,

How many midi messages the jog wheels sends? I have found a much better way to nudge the tracks than using the Pitch Bend control in version 3. You just need an infinitive rotatory or jog wheel sending 1 midi CC.

    Try the following setting:

Go to Preferences-->Midi Set Up--> Add->Deck->Transport->Deck Jump Beats Fine.
Midi Control Type-> Rotatory Encoder(64). Then adjust the sensitivity and Acceleration at your own feeling. I have 3% sensitivity 2% acceleration. Assig it to your rotatory/jog wheel.

This control works great because you can nudge tracks without changing the pitch, and it's much more precise than Pitch Bending.

Maybe you know already, I didn't see it in the forum and I think people should know, for me one of the most powerful features of version 3!

jmugu, have you tried an BCD2000, or are you refering to midi setup in general?

(i guess you are content with Kontrol DJ?)

Actually I did not know this so your advice is most valuable.
    Thank you for the guidance!

As near as I can tell the jog wheels produce CC19 for the left and CC18 for the right wheels. According to something I read they produce relative values of + or - 1 but I don't know yet exactly, I have not installed MIDIOX to look I'll do that today and I'll try your suggestion as well.

I'll let you know what I find out. Time to do what they pay me for right now tho....

I suspect its a product of the fine information distribution and coordination system Behringer has...

    Hi Voff,

I was refering to midi set up in general. I haven't try it but if the jogs of the BCD2000 only sends one CC you can use the "Deck Jump Beat Fine" control, if you want to control the pitch bend with a jog you need the jog to send 3 midi messages (up, down and reset).

And yes I'm VERY happy with the kontrol Dj.

    Hi Phil,

If only sends one CC is enough for the "Deck Jump Beats Fine" and very important set Midi Control Type-> Rotatory Encoder(64) otherwise won't work. I'm deeply impress with the results much precise than Pitch Bending and forget about unwanted bends in the pitch!
