    Hello

I have a new macbook arriving soon. I want to use it to DJ. I do weddings and parties so I need reliability. I am unsure whether to get the BCD3000 or Omni Control. Please can you advise me?

They seem to have similar features, except the BCD3000 can't select tracks without a mouse, and the numark seems to have better build quality. Obviously I'd prefer to pay the price of the BCD3000 but not if it's won't work as well. I want kill switches, the ability to use a filter and be able change the cutoff, create loops, and stutter start. Both seem to be able to do this.

I'm concerned that a lot of people are having problems getting both to work on Mac OS. Are they in the minority? Please can you let me know if you are having success with either of these controllers using a Macbook?

    regards
    Jamie

I am using BCD3000 without any problems on m macbook. Doing some internet radio and small parties of friends. The only thing you have to keep in mind when using BCD3000 with OSX is to set the clock to the outputs of the (by traktor) created aggregated device.

Thanks. What do you think about it's durability. I've heard they're built very cheaply and may not last for long.

Considering theyre almost equivalently priced, I'd personally always go for something like Numark which have a pedigree in DJ equipment. Behringer are about as cheap and as cheerful(or nasty) as you can get. If you are on a budget or want a stop gap Id say theyre ok, but since they are almost the same price, I don't think there's a much competition.

    Just my $0.2

I have a BCD3000 and I only use it in my studio and its fine does the job, the pots are nice and smooth and good resistance and feel, however the faders are total **** as they are far to flimsey and have no resistance what so ever. The case build is not to bad, but the little rubber feet are useless you have to stick them on with superglue if you want them to stay on if not your desk slips about all over the place, pain in the botty.

I really wish that I had gone for the Numark now but never mind it does the job sort of.

Will is right theres not much competition really with a big name like Numark from my past experience of owning a DMX mixer made by Numark the build and qaulity was top notch. Please do let us know what you end up going for.

Thanks for your input. I've just ordered the Behringer because money is tight. I'll see how I get on with it. I've 7 days to take it back. If it's naff I'll push my limits a bit and get the Numark.

I'll let you know how I get on.
