    Hi,

I should be getting traktor pro next month and wanted to get a proper controller to go with it. I have read the vc-100 is probably the most favoured among the many available today, but it's a little too pricey for me, as I just want to get into as a hobby not serious dj'ing like most of you on here.

Can anyone recommend a good solid budget controller at around £100-£150 mark?

I only wanna control 2 decks mostly and am mainly concerned with loops and filter control with a possible assignable effects controller?

Any ideas/suggestions that might fit that bill would be greatly appreciated.

    Cheers!

do you have a mac? perhaps you should look into the vestax spin or the vestax typhoon (for win) its like the "VCI 50" the affordable little baby brother of the vci100

Traktor has a good internal mixer and effects generator. You could consider mixing with that for a while. Gives you an opportunity to evaluate which controls are most important to you and also to save up more dough.

Sorry forgot to mention my laptop yeah!

I've got a samsung r780 running windows 7 64 bit. I was tempted with a mac but they are far too pricey and the machine I got was twice the spec for about 2/3's the price of a MacBook pro!

    Thanks for the suggestion.

I'm not after a seperate mixer that does effects itself just a controller to control traktors in-built effects/filters and deck control.

Also, sorry for the noobish question but do I have to get an external soundcard too or will the controller have one built in?

    Thanks everyone for your advice.

    Cheers.

Just checked out the Typhoon and it doesn't appear to be out yet. However, it still looks like it's gonna be over budget. Tbh i don't like the design, and the platters are gonna be useless to me as I wouldn't really be scratching, and pitch bend on a button would be enough for me. I'm more interested in the loops, effects eq's & filters.

Is there anything half decent with built in soundcard that could do this (with bundled traktor?) for 100 to 150 quid or would that be asking too much?

    Nu-mark Stealth.

I actually prefer it to the VCI-100

Yeah looks more like the price I wanna pay but no soundcard built in which would be nice. Think I'm just gonna save for the vci-100 as there doesn't seem to be a lot of choice.

    Thanks.

Numark omni controller is worth a look they are not that more expensive than a stealth tbh. I like the Omni's, I have two friends sporting them and they are happy.

it's says it comes with traktor LE - can this be upgraded to traktor pro at a lower price than the full advertised price?
