    Hi all,

what controller keyboard do you like best when controlling Komplete software? Be it on stage or in the studio...

I'm looking for a small (49-61) keyboard for on the road.
Possibilities include: M-audio Oxygen 3rd gen, Novation Nocturn 49, or maybe the Akai MPK 61 for its MPC groove patterns and arpeggiator...

What do you think, other suggestions are also welcome!
    Best,
    Glenn

I use an E-Mu Xboard 61 myself; the keyboard feels better to me than the options you've mentioned. YMMV...

    Hi EW,
thank you very much for your swift response! I've been checking the alternatives, but I miss controllers on the Emu you mention. (also a daw control for logic or live might come in handy on stage.) I don't need the faders though...

    So i guess i'll be set up like this: komplete + logic/live + kore + keys/controller
note that i'll be playing trumpet mostly, routed through hardware multi fx and into kore.
It's mainly for triggering loops, and play some pads to help my keyboard player.
At home, it would be nice to get rid of my Korg X3 to keep things compact and I don't need the sounds in the X3 neither.

So I was looking at the novations. How does automap interact with komplete and kore?
And what's the main difference between the nocturn, sl compact and sl mk2.

    Cheers,
    Glenn

I got the Novation SL49 MkII for my home studio about a month ago and absolutely love it.

For the price range it offers up a lot of mapping options. AutoMAP PRO seems to work great for most VST's but in Kontakt 4 I seem to lose some of my CC mappings, I'm sure it's just me because I haven't spent a lot of time mapping out Kontakt.

The SL MkII have touch sensitive controllers and faders, meaning that a touch quickly reveals what that controller is tied to.
