Yes. Mac will automatically mount it I believe to /Volumes/Blah
where "Blah" is whatever you named your external drive.
So.... you will probably need to do a find/replace on "D:\DJ Collection to /:Volumes/:MyDriveName/:DJ Collection/:

Note -- I don't know how Traktor deals with spaces in those things... and it's VERY picky about illegal characters.

    SUCCESS!

I keep all my music in a folder on C:\Music and Movies

I opened up the collection.nml file and did a find and replace (in pspad) on "C:" to become "Macintosh HD" .. (since i copied the exact folder above to the mac root dir Macintosh HD)

    Simple as that.....

    Heeeellllllpppppppp!

Indeed it was, but in my alcohol induced frenzy i failed to recognise that Traktor was duping each track I play! major sickener!

That leaves me stumped to where i think johnnyh above had the similar issue.. and it appears nobody has a definitive answer as to how to prevent this.. mutha@£$%!...

    :(

DOES ANYBODY KNOW HOW TO SOLVE THIS? please..

I want to store my songs on a SDHC card and play the songs off of it... My studio computer is a PC but my DJ lappy is a Mac... I do all my cues and whatever on the PC...... When I transfer the songs to the card is it a simple copy & paste or do I need to drag other files as mentioned above?

This was starting to piss me off big time..

I reviewed both collection.xml's native to pc and mac and the only difference is the VOLUME and VOLUMEID

I did the find and replace C: for Macintosh HD, it finds the music no probem but dups every track played..

I've did the import collection, and selected the collection.xml and did the relocate, again dups after each track played,

My last resort was to put a string in the comments tag and see if it would save that string to the file on shut down.. it did thankfully (i believe it doesnt do this in windows, something i had tried in the past)

I then went bk in and cleared the collection, shut down again, went bk in and import every track on my hard drive, then sorted by the comments field and removed all the tracks that didnt contain the aforementioned string... was at the end of my tether on this one, surely there is an easier way... im not the most technically minded but i know a few things.. dont know how some people are able to move without going right the back to square 1...

How do you mean dupe? It copies it to a new location?

No not the actual file being duplicated, just the file reference to the file in the collection window, it creates a brand new entry in the collection.nml, it did this for every track the first time it was played. I'm convinced it has to do with something other than the collection.nml itself, since as mentioned the xml tagging data is identical in both systems, apart for where the VOLUME and VOLUMEID is pointing for the files, IE on windows C: and mac Macintosh HD..
    ---
What you can to is move your collection.nml over to the mac and import it, by right clicking on collection, import collection (it will prompt your to search for the .nml file you just moved into your mac somewhere, maybe still on your SD card) and do a relocate.. Then check if your getting dups like myself, if not then your good to go.. otherwise you can probably do what I did until someone comes up with something that actually works

This is right where I got to weeks ago, where by each tune played in traktor on the mac produces a 2nd version in your collection !

If only this fault could be cured it would be very easy to port across any pc to mac DJ collection,

But for some reason this bug exists, I hope some one can get to the bottom of these music tracks being duplicated on the mac each time you play them in traktor

    regards

Sorry if this is a stupid question. I don't have a Mac to give this a go and see if I can help but I am wondering why you need to import anything. Once you have done your find/replace and copied the collection.xml file to your Mac. Surely you start up and there everything is, as long as the collection.xml is in the directory you have set in traktor as your root directory. No need to import anything or relocate anything.

At least I'm not alone, I wasn't sure you had a fix for it or not.. obviously not.. I think it is something the mods should chime in on and perhaps tell us what were doing wrong or else escalate it to prod support.

I presume you had to start again from fresh on your mac?

Okay, I know I'm REALLY late on this. I saw this beahvior recently and I figured out why. In my case, the VOLUME and VOLUMEID tags were both wrong. Whenever I dd anything to one of these entries (like add it to a playlist) Traktor would duplicate it. Check your collection.nml file to make sure the tags are right. On the PC, VOLUMEID will likely be some goofy number.

I was not able to restore my collection when moving from PC to Mac. I've done everything in accordance with the How to transfer, move or copy the TRAKTOR collection, playlists and settings from one computer to another. Playlists recovered, pathes to the tracks not found. Relocate does not work.

    Please help!

Problem solved! Must do everything as written in the Knowledge Base. Then in each playlist, select all the tracks (cmd+a) and do relocate. Everything was fine, but a new problem:
I can not reassign the two favorites ((They stayed with the PC. I appoint in their place new playlists, save the settings, but when you open the program and download the settings, everything remains as it was. How to get rid of them?

hi all. have read all the thread, and im planning to buy myself a mac pro for christmas :) so honestly i didnt understand anything regarding music transferring and the issues.
i have in mind that when i get a mac all i will have to do is install TSP, point the location where my music will be and then just drag and drop all my music using USB stick. i think were wont be any probs then, as i realize when i will open TSP after my music transfered it will just analyze it and ready to, right?

I used a thing called mac drive, it works on a PC for a week or two in demo mode. What you want to do is format the drive in the mac, (you can get Time machine to do this in the correct format so that you have a bootable external drive through time machine). As long as you copy the files when the trial is in date then happy days.
If you cannot get this done in a fortnight then you may have to pay for some software....
