beveled square wave?

    Hello, is there a way to make the edges of a square wave rounded beveled? so that it does not jump from 1 to -1 right away?

    There are probably ways depending on the context, and depending on what you mean by 'rounded bevelled'. What is it for?

    I was using an square wave to modulate the filter cut off, I was wondering if the filter can go up, stay for a bit, and then go down but with a smoother transition? thanks!

    have you tried putting the square wave through a low pass filter?

    i guess i have an idea for a rounded beveled square :
    You use a fast linear slope when you have a jump by adding x + dx at each sample while you are not at the top or bottom.
    And you pass this linear slope in a function :
    y = (sign x) * ( 1 - ( 1- |x| )² * ( 1- |x| )² )

    at x = 0.5 for the linear slope , you should have y = 0.9375
