Seeing as I'm coding a lot for the S4 screens, I decided to check the compatibility with Big Sur. When running the S4, AppleUserHIDDrivers will shoot up to ~85% CPU usage. This causes a delay of about 5 seconds between button presses on the controller. Also, when moving the jogwheels, there's a slight delay, then they just have a mind of their own.

Here is a video of the jogwheels in poltergeist mode: https://streamable.com/ezfhef

Obviously the OS is still in beta, just making you aware of compatibility issues.

Seeing as they haven’t posted a statement saying not to update like there always is with new OS betas, there needs to be one.

Joe121 We only post statements about not updating to a final version of a OS not a beta version. Using a beta version is at your own risk.

Thanks, we always check out developer builds of MacOS and we will try to address the issues found or report it to Apple if it has to be fixed on their side.

I can see the higher CPU load of the HID driver, for me its around 22% but I do not see the self spinning jogwheels. Can you remove your mappings and use the standard mapping for the S4 and see if the jogwheels still do this?

I’ve now reverted but the issue was present for me both before and after I installed my hack.

We will file a Radar report for the high cpu load, hopefully it gets addressed soon.

Can confirm I experience the exact same issue which tends to start anywhere between 10-30 minutes into a DJ session using TP3 and my Macbook 15" 2017

How’s Big Sur with Traktor now? It used to just overload the DriverKit process as soon as you pressed shift on the S4

Bug is still open on Apple's side so nothing has changed :(
