    Hello NI,
as an Abbey Road Drums User (60 up to Modern Drums) i was really surprised to get the free Drummer upgrade.
What can i say, fabulous sounds as before, but now i got a really wonderful mixer section and great effects on top!
I did some tests and i don't really see the use anymore to give every drum part an own output bus, because the effects sounds great.
Again, a wonderful Post Christmas gift, thanks a lot!

I'll second this, it's nice to have the different "sounds" available as options in a single patch instead of a bunch of different patches, and the midi files are a nice addition.

I do have a problem with the installation. After installing I can see the Abbey Road xxs Drummer in Kontakt. But whenever I try to load a .nki file I get the "This patch was generated by a newer version of the application. Please upgrade your copy to load the patch." When I hit the settings button and choose "Open containing folder" it ssems to point to the correct folder. The only difference I see between the 'old' and 'new' folder is that the old folder contains a .nkx and .nicnt file that are not in the new folder. Anyone have an idea what's going on?

** Never mind, it turned out I didn't have the latest release installed. While I only recently had Komplete 8 installed it didn't cross my mind this might be the issue...New mixer is definitely a big move ahead from the previous version**

The upgrade of Abbey Road Drums works absolutely fine on my Roland V Drums TD-20. The sounds a just incredible. I have one small problem though. When I upload a drum kit, there is a particular part on my snare that doesn't produce sound. So I have to select via Midi a particular sound element to upload into the snare in that particular area. Is this normal? The rest is just working great! Thanks a lot Native Intruments, the best piece of software ever seen :D!

    Best,
    Koen

I haven't received my upgrade yet. When were these sent out? I got an email announcing the upgrade and indicating that serial numbers would be sent out to existing users, but that's the last I heard about it. I also checked the Service Center, and there are no upgrades listed there. I'm a Komplete 8 Ultimate owner, as well as owning the Abbey Road 60's set from Komplete 7.

I noticed that when I downloaded and installed the Abbey Road Drummer library that it left the Abbey Road Drums files on my hard drive as well as in K5. Is it safe to delete all the Abbey Road Drums files or do they share with Abbey Road Drummer?

Drummer series is registered as a separate library - even though the sample pool seems to be exactly the same. I wouldn't advise removing the older version because the "Drummer" series library tabs won't be visible in Kontakt 4.

But if I'm using Kontakt 5 I'd be safe in removing the "Drums" files? I just don't want to chew up hard drive space unnecessarily.

Sure. But if you have used "Drums" in a project, you're going to need at least those NKIs, and resave them by pointing them to "Drummer" NKX monoliths. You will also need to keep the "_info.nkx" files.

Which isn't an issue for me since I just got them and haven't started really diving in to them yet.

    Thanks for the help.

Yes, in that case, you can remove "Drums" and carry on with "Drummer" if you want.

I'm getting the same issue. I don't get it, why do they send out an old release for you to install?
Do I have to d/l the whole 6G library as well?
    Little confused here,
    thanks

    Dan,

You have to download two files. One is a 6gig .ISO file that contains the program and library. The second file (a .EXE file) is needed to 'mount' the iso file and run the installer.

So download both files to the 'same' folder, then double-click the .exe file. That should take care of it.

Thanks guys. I initially downloaded both files that came with the email.
Then installed & got the message.
Last night I downloaded the 'newer' exe file from my updates page, installed it, and got the same message.
I guess I have to re-download the 6G file again as well.
    Good thing I have a 50G/month limit....
Even though I had K5 already, this is still one helluva value!

Tried installing the update again, same message as before. Can someone tell me where to download AR60's Drummer from?
Is there a way to tell which files are the latest?
I've tried the email link sent from NI when I registered K8, and the other one in my list of products when I log in to the NI site.
I've deleted the original files, deleted the install, re-installed what I thought were the 'new' files, neither work.
Takes an hour and a half to d/l 6G, I don't have time for this.
I'll give it one more shot, and that's it. I've lived this long without Ringo in my studio... ;o).
