Bizarre Blinking Midi Light in Ableton

Hey guys--

I've just noticed that when I have my S61 Keyboard powered on and connected to ableton with the NI control script loaded as normal - whenever i press a key anywhere in my midi chain, the ableton midi out indicator starts flashing repeatedly. I'm talking about the little light in the upper right hand corner that blinks blue when the computer sends out midi -- i have no other equpiment connected other than my komplete keyboard and after each keypress the light blinks like 10-15 times. this doesn't happen with any other piece of equipment i have. is this normal? any insight would be very welcome. i want to make sure there's not some loop sending endless useless info out over midi- and anyway the light blinking is somewhat annoying though not the worst.

Yes

You have a control surface which is in constant communication with the DAW. When you send signals into Live, the script is sending all kinds of data back to the keyboard for light guide status, mixer status etc. which is why you see it on the "DAW" control port and not a MIDI port (the DAW port is not sending MIDI but rather control signals). If you do not experience any issues then I would not be too worried about what is going on, just that is normal.

Just make sure of course you do NOT have the DAW port set as an input or output in the MIDI section, just as a control surface device
