Black Friday Komplete Upgrade?

sale is on but not what we are wanting. its too soon. They have to harvest all the full retail money first, then they drop it down during the summer/fall, next year's black friday. etc.

 

Actually, NI might have out foxed themselves when it comes to me. I can upgrade to Guitar Rig 6 for $99 and completely bypass upgrading to KU13 from KU12. Guitar Rig is the only thing I had any real interest in that I don't already own. Now I just have to decide if I spend $99 on GR6 or $149 (minus $20 loyalty bucks) on IK Multimedia's Amplitude 5.

I'm on Komplete 12 and there's absolutely nothing in Komplete 13 that justifies spending $200 to me. That money's going to Arturia this year.

 

Good Choice. I spent $249 on Arturia's V collection and I am wonderfully amazed at all the toys you get for that price. If you have any interest in keyboards/synths from the 60s, 70s, 80s, and maybe early 90s. This can't be passed up before the black friday sale ends.

As for me, I'm still on the fence about IK Multimedia's Amplitude 5. Do I get the regular one or blow another $150 and get the Max version.

 

So no incentive for people like me to delay buying a Komplete Kontrol keyboard? No sale on hardware or Kontrol13?

 

I think that updates from the last version should be like $99 at the very most. $199 is something I'd expect to pay for upgrading from say Komplete 10 to 13, there's just not enough new stuff going from 12 to 13. I think NI is pretty much the Waves of soft synths now. The bundle peaked in functionality several releases ago and now NI is just cramming as much fluff into each release as possible to justify the price.

 

Its not uncommon for software companies to sort of reach a "whats next" era. Unfortunately Microsoft was the first company to jiggle crop/chop shake and bake resell you the same crap you already own and they were hugely successful with that approach and all the other software companies learned the wrong lesson from it. Integrated components are great but lets not pretend we are buying something brand new just because it looks different.

NI is trying to harvest as much $$$ as it can and will harvest again next summer the $$$ it failed to get this cycle.

Had NI came out with something brand new like a guitar amp profiling system (like kemper profiler), and not just another version of a long in the tooth guitar vst, I would have paid the $$$ for it.

Now I'm off to seriously consider which version of Amplitude 5 I'm upgrading to.

 

No problém. If update from 12 to 13 does not bring much value, one may skip that update and wait about two years to 14. It will bring more, but if not suffitiently more, one may wait two more years for 15.

It is easy as that. One may skip one or two/three updates.....

I have upgraded from K12U to K13U CE as it brought me great value for good money. (But I must add that I managed do it with 56% discount. I bought heavily discounted upgrade to K12U CE in month grace period and received update to K13U CE for free. )

I upgraded to Amplitude 5 Max last night. ($299 - $20 loyalty jampoints/jambucks) It was too good a deal to pass up. I had been using a few items from Amplitude 4 over the past few years while waiting for GR 6, and noticed my go to vst amp(s) were not in GR5 anymore.

Since Amplitude 5 isn't out yet, I can't comment on how well it works. The Amplitude 5 (non MAX version) is $149.

Oh well, I guess we'll be all staying at home for a long time, being creative without K13. At least I could grab Arkhis, which is amazing.

 

I don't blame NI for not lowering the price since KU13 just came out. However their were much better deals to be had out their the last few weeks.

 

If you've got Komplete Standard 12, the upgrade to Standard 13 is $200.
During the summer sale, when other things are slashed 50% off, does this become $100 as well?

 

I've got Ultimate 12. Its $400 right now to upgrade. Way too much for what you get considering 95% of it I already own in KU12.

I'll wait until this summer or next year or when KU 14 comes out or KU 15, 16, etc..

 

Upgrades/Updates to Komplete version's 50% discount will be most probably 2021 Summer Sale and Black Friday. And 2022 Summer Sale.

K14U might come in fall 2022. If it is going to be released at the same Schedule like few previous versions. And in that case - no 50% discount on Komplete Upgrades/Updates at 2022 Black Friday.
