Can we get an official statement on whether Blocks will ever be polyphonic? Is it even possible?

I thought I was ready to update till I read Blocks is mono only..

That would need a complete change in the way how instruments communicate (which has been monophonic only since way back when Reaktor was called Generator, so version 1). Kinda doubtful it would ever happen.

getting official statements out of NI is like getting blood out of a stone.

I would guess that it is possible, but i have no idea when this would happen.

imho, Blocks is wonderful and i am sure there will be new Blocks being released in the Suer Library and by the devs themselves.

@EvilDragon So each block has to be seen as an instrument on its own? I was under the impression each block is a macro..

Each Block IS a Reaktor instrument! That's kinda evident when you look at the videos and see the thick headers on each block, which is specifically a feature of instruments, not macros.

@sowari No doubt Blocks looks wonderful but it could be quite an unpleasant surprise when you find out its mono..

??? only a few snaps with ca. 35%-38% (6 voices). Most of snaps lower than 30% and much lower.
    BTW nice snaps :)

MacBookPro (Retina 15", late 2013) 2,3 GHz Intel Core 7
    Memory: 16GB 1600MHz DDR3
Grafics: Intel Iris Pro 1536 MB

I don't know why PCs have so bad performance :( (sorry)

That makes no sense whatsoever. 4.3 GHz should be plenty...

I don't think PCs (in general) have "bad performance", quite the opposite, but Jim's computer might have some weird problems...

Lemme try that ensemble here, I have a 3 GHz i5 quadcore...

EDIT: 8.6% at 48k, 128 samples buffer size! (Ah that's the first snapshot. Dry Pluck 8 is 27.6% CPU! Still manageable.)

Jim, there's something terribly wrong happening with your OC'd i7.

So it's the events that clog up the CPU.

It all boils down to the eternal battle between melody and harmony. o_O

I've never had a problem with Reaktor instruments being monophonic, and I've been noodling with Reaktor since it was Generator.

Never had any issues with mono instruments either because I pick them for a certain purpose or change them to poly if I really have to. With blocks you really don't have a choice. I mean its not like you just pick another ens, this is a whole framework. Its just that people kind of expect it to be poly while NI doesn't mention the mono 'limitation' anywhere. Still on the fence whether I should update cause blocks is basicly all I'm drawn to with this release.
