Hi! I just received Akoustic today, and I'm supposed to be demoing at my Club Cubase meeting tonight (Wednesday), and all seems well except that the Bosendorfer load states that 388 samples are missing. The path is correct (and there was a place that showed that all instruments were "ready"), and all the other instruments are working fine. I tried re-installing the content of Disc 1 again, but it didn't help.

    Any thoughts?

I had similar problem with my DVD drive. Apparently, insteading of stopping and letting you know there is a problem the installer creates 0 size files and moves on. All you notice is an incredibly slow install. Given that it's a DVD and no prior experience with the install it's easy to accept it as normal.

If the program itself installs you can just copy the sample directory of the piano you want, in this case "Boesendorfer", from the DVD directly to the samples directory on your disk. The 16 bit and 24 bit samples have the same name. If you want the 24 bit samples, copy from the "samples" directory. If you want the 16 bit samples copy from "samples 16" piano.

Doing it this way Windows will choke and let you know there is a problem when it encounters a sample it can't copy. I was fortunately enough to have another computer with a DVD networked to my music computer that was able to read the disks. I copied them locally and then transferred them via the network. If you don't have a second DVD about all you can do is "hammer" on the situation - copy the files in small groups so you can isolate the problem files and then go through the "clean & try again" ritual, hopefully with some success.

If you succeed, be sure to make a backup. Otherwise, I'd take the disks back to wherever you bought them and get another copy. I managed to get everything to load but three of my disks had problems.

    Ernie,
What do you mean that 3 disks of yours had problems.
On how many disks comes the akoustik piano?

p.s.:I am just waiting for my akoustik piano.

    4 dvd's.

One disk each for the piano's with one also containing the program, patches, demo files, docs and installer. If I remember right, the 16 bit piano's are just over 2 gigs with the 24 bit ones around 3. That's another reason you don't notice the slow loads due to read errors - the install is going to take time just because of the amount of data that needs to be transferred.

I didn't know you could fit over 5 gigs on a DVD.

Well, I have just picked up the Akoutik Piano in a music shop.
    And started the installation.

UNFORTUNATELY, the loading of the Bosendorfer's samples (only 24 bit) "stopped" after a while!
Indeed, I had to copy the files from the 1st installation dvd by hand, and only in a small chunks was the copying possible. Very strange!
    What is WRONG? Any clue?

Copying the next DVD (again 24 bit) went fine, as well as the 3rd DVD (again 24 bit), copying the 4th dvd went fine as well.

I like to know what is wrong?

    Any input is welcome.
    Trif.

    My DAW is:
    A8V Deluxe, dual-core 4600 x 2 CPU, 2 gig ram, RME Multiface, WXP-Pro, SP2.

Well, in addition to my previous report the installation gave problems as well. Please read further.

In summary I started to install the Akoustik Piano (standalone + Vsti) including the sample libraries. The installation of the program looked fine, and the installation started (automatically) instal the Bosendorfer samples. During this step the installation stoppped - became "frozen".
So, after this I did a manual install for all the 24 bit samples.
After these steps I wrote my previous comment.

I have thought so, that everything now will be fine, but it was not. I could not run the akoustik piano.

    Very strange!

Even I did not see it in the list of installed program.

So, I re-installed the Akoustik Piano without the library (since the library was installed) and after locating the library the I could start the Akoustik Piano. However it's volume is rather quite compare to my other softsynth's main volume.

I did encounter problems, and I would like to know what went wrong. I like the pianos. They are realy very nice - I just miss the physical resonance in my fingers/arms what I have when I play a real piano.

I had the same problems but with the "ConcertGrand" samples.

When you cancel the setup and try to copy them manually you should first eject the dvd and close your drive. Then it´ll be no problems copying the files with windows explorer.

    hope it helps,

Well, I did opened the DVD drive (several times when installation of the Bosendorfer samples stopped) but that did not help.
What I did not do was re-starting my daw/pc.

But, my Akoustik Piano is up, and it runs, and my dual core CPU (4600 x 2) does not get "any" stress at all.

Anyhow, it was strange that the installation gace a bit trouble.
I still like to know why this has happened.
