BPM changing when beatmatching with platters

Having a problem with my Kontrol S2, and I was hoping someone else might be able to give me some guidance..

Basically, when I am giving the jog wheels a nudge to beatmatch a tune I am bringing in with a tune that is already playing the BPM will suddenly jump to a random BPM and will stay there until I nudge the jog wheel again, at which point it will go back to the BPM I set with the pitch control.

So this results in the tunes being totally off beat, and then there is a big panic to match them up again (unfortuneately most of the time i am actually in the mix, and therefore the crowd can hear it!). This only happens sometimes, and I cant demonstrate it when I want to see re-enact the problem.

Can anyone help? I am hoping it is just an issue that Traktor will address with their next app upate..

    Cheers

Both.. but like I say, its really unpredictable.. had a gig last night and had to just take the current track off a couple of times because of the beatmatching throwing itself.. FYI I don't use Sync

Strange one. I tend to use temposync myself and manually adjust the phase and I've never had an issue. The decks do show the BPM alter as you bend with the jogwheel (as you'd expect) but goes back to the original when released. If it was just one jogwheel then I'd suspect a hardware issue but sounds like a software issue to me.

I'd check my settings and if they were ok I'd try a uninstall/reinstall of Traktor.

I know what you mean when the pitch bend changes on the screen, and most of the time it goes back once you let go, but sometimes it stays?? and then you have to touch it again to release it.. very strange.. I use it on my Ipad so I will delete the app and then download it again..

    Thanks for you help!

Is anyone else having this issue??

I have a similiar issue using 2 pioneer cdj 900 in HID mode with pioneer 850 mixer - when adjusting the pitch on the platter the master deck pitch will change making it impossible to beatmatch - I have checked all my settings, updated drivers etc but no change help please!!

    Try calibrating your jog wheels.

In settings under S2 there should be an option to calibrate the Jog Wheels.

My understanding is it's a Traktor DJ specific issue, not TP/TSP. Do you have Keylock on? I think this is why NI state you must to have SYNC AND keylock off to manually beatmatch when using the S2/S4. Only way around it is the ride the pitch or live with the pitch changes when nudging.

Im hoping NI will sort this out at some point soon. None of the other 'big' DJ apps have issues with nudging with keylock on, eg. Cross DJ, Djay2, DJ Player.
