I have read the beat grid document and played around with adjusting and locking the BPM setting on the tracks. Here are some questions that I have that some of you experienced user may be able to help me with.

Lets say that traktor reports a track as 125.8 when analyzed. Using the clicking or spacebar method, I test the beat and lets say it bounces around between 125.8 and 126.3. What should I do then?

    1) Since Traktor got it pretty close do I leave it as is?
    2) Do I round and lock it at 126?

At this point, all I have done is set an arbitrary number. I know that once I play the track if I adjust it up or down that the song will speed up or slow down.

What are the playback ramifications of adjusting and locking? Does this affect playback in anyway? What happens if you get it wrong?

    Thanks in advance!

If you don't enter the right value of BPM your beatgrid will not be accurate during all the track.
You should visualy test the accuracy of your beatgrid and even do some listening testing.
This process of encoding the right bpm value is only usefull if you wanna mix with Traktor DJ Studio using the "Sync" button or if you wanna use the loop function.
If you wanna use Traktor DJ Studio controled by Final Scratch 2, you don't need to go through all that process.

I've noticed that Traktor is determining BPM incorrectly, and only solution is to fine tune speed via "Fine pitch range" control; This error goes from 0.1 BPM to more; In other words, you have to mix by ear (if u don't wanna use beatgrids). The other problem is the Fine pitch range issue - I have that set to 1%, and STILL IS NO GOOD for fine tempo tuning, you can't set speed precisely :(
