So - KK 2.0 is out - aaaaanddd - (drum roll) ...... nothing.

    An effects section. Right.

NONE of the functionality that came with MK1 and the control editor - no improvement whatsoever in actually USING the MK2 as a CONTROLLER.

Is there any reason why the control editor was dumped and this half baked idea of integrating a far reduced set of functions within KK? I stupidly upgraded to the MK2 without realising that - for example - I would no longer be able to use the transport controls with Reaper - that I could no longer name my custom templates (it is a bit important) that I couldn't customize my lights - and so much else I took for granted.

I am not normally one to complain - I think the NI family of products is pretty good - if pricey - but I though I was investing in the cream of controllers - the MK2 is a terrible disappointment without Control Editor.

    Shoulda stuck with the MK1.

    Sorry for moaning.

I hear ya loud and clear and all through the Beta people were saying what everyone is saying now and knew the boards would be filled with complaints. Yet to read a single post that says how great the new update is.

I was so excited to look at upgrading from the MK1 to the MK2 because I really wanted the ability to browse sounds directly on the keyboard. I'm now super happy I did not make the upgrade since my MK1 still works a treat and seems more useful than the MK2. I was thinking it would just be a few months until these shortcomings would be addressed but here we are after 6 months and nothing at all.

I really feel for the MK2 users especially the ones that switched from the MK1. The keyboard is actually fantastic, one of the best I have used and it is so close to being a brilliant product, the development is what is really letting it down. Far too slow and not addressing the right things for users. All we can do is keep making noise until someone decides to actually listen and do something about it! I want my MK2 but not until things have improved a great deal.

Yep Mr JesterM' - you on the money there. And to add insult to injury - I have realized after playing with the effects section a bit that you cannot save the chain with the instrument. So what is the point of this? - live use? - not really - you would have to tweak your settings every time you switched patch's - not being able to save is just like 'demo' versions of s/ware?

Maybe thats it - NI have - mistakenly released a 'demo' version and all the MK1 user lovliness is 'locked' out - I must report this error.

    Hey ho.

Ok... I usually stay pretty low key in forums and such... but this is frickin' ridiculous. NI - it is the year 2018. MIDI was standardized 35 years ago - and your flagship 2018 MIDI controller is stuck sending note data only on one MIDI channel - channel 1. This is simply ridiculous.

Rule #1 about releasing a new version of a product is to never ever ever remove popular features of V1 of that product. How do you guys not understand this basic rule of 21st century product design?

The thing is, Komplete Kontrol controllers could be so cool. It could be such a beloved product - but at the moment it is nothing but frustration after frustration.

Mick @ NI - do you have anything to add to this discussion? Or, could you relay some of this information to the proper team? We sorely miss features we assumed with be in the second version of our beloved keyboards. It feels like a slap in the face to be limited in this way, and there is no correspondence even remotely acknowledging this issue. Worse yet, an update comes out without addressing our concerns. Can you help with this situation? Thank you.
