Just read the manual about using broadcast feature on OS X. Anyone got experience of this as I have agreed to do a show and am worried about what I have to do......
I have just been looking at the nicecast website and am a little p**sed off that I need a third party software to broadcast!
    Help!

Well I am getting somewhere here. It turns out that my broadcast worked and was far easier than I expected. I-tunes and Winamp dont like the ogg vorbis stream type however.....
One thing I have noticed is that the track playing is what is sent as metadata and not the info I put in the metadata section of the broadcast settings screen.
    Any ideas guys?

I've been broadcasting with nicecast. It would be great to do it from within Traktor Pro but you're right, who the hell is gonna listen to a Ogg Vorbis stream? If most people can't listen on their itunes or their web browser, they're not gonna listen.

Right well here goes as since my original post I have been getting a bit of experience whilst dj-ing on a weekly web radio show. The ogg vorbis stream is actually very good. It is not compatible with web browser type players, but the quality is great for the bandwidth. A simple plug in is all that is required.
To stream in MP3 would increase processing and in turn either cause drop outs or increase latency........

Of course, another reason ogg saves bandwidth is because you will only have two listeners. ;) Seriously, even a "simple plug in" is going to lose more than half your potential audience. I definitely support the philosophy and the politics behind ogg but in practical terms it just means most people aren't gonna bother to listen to your stream. And is it even possible to listen to an ogg stream on iphone?

Hey there, I'm just new to broadcasting and such out here. I was just wondering if you could help me out. I've got a radio stream sorted and stuff.. same with nicecast. I've entered the details. But however Traktor seems to be giving up on me when streaming? Any help with this?

giving up how? Does the program quit or just quit broadcasting? Not sure I have an answer either way, heh, but it would help to post more details about the problem you're having.
