Broken USB port the Brand New Mixer.

Now I'm waiting for a 4-5 weeks of my unopened package.

I've been following this post as well. Can't believe all the BS you've had to go through! Generally my experience with NI has all been positive. But they clearly keep sending you "used" mixers. Some photos make it look extremely used! Don't blame your aggravation!

Not to mention this whole time you haven't been able to use the mixer! Which in itself is a massive headache! @Irv_Tf might have the right idea going w/ the Rane 57SL. I'm constantly on patrol for a good deal on one of those. One just slipped passed me for $425! I missed out on that one.. Don't get me wrong I love my Z2, would just like to become more well rounded and learn Serato. See if i'm missing anything good.

The original 57 is a great mixer but it is outdated and you can not use it with Serato Dj, only with SSL.
You can use a separate Rane and or Denon soundcard but you loose the midi functions on the mixer.
So I would not advise to buy it because of it's old technogy.
The mixer Irv is talking about is the soon to be released 57 mk2 version, which is build for Serato Dj, not SSL.
The 62 which I own can be used for both software and Traktor with a midi mapping and Traktor soundcard.
I think Rane will release a Traktor mapping for the 57 mk2 also.
Both great mixers and I always loved Rane mixers but they are pricey.

 

Damn look at me feeling like a newb! My eyes totally glazed on the MK2 part, lol. Didn't realize they're making a 2nd version, although it sounds awesome. The original is kinda old at this point but the fact it's packaged with an internal SSL card was always appealing to me, have always heard good things about the joysticks, and the price is reasonable. Would love to have a 62 but can't really justify dropping almost 2 grand when my Z2 already is in mint condition.

accepted the voucher.

Well that wasn't the ending I expected, but hey if you're happy man then cheers! Kinda surprised after all the back and forth with NI and all the effort you put into creating this Thread that you would just up and sell the mixer. idk maybe you already have other, or new, gear to keep you running.

 

I think NI had too many chances to make this right and failed. They showed poor workmanship in not cleaning things up properly on refurbs or replacing clearly worn knobs. It was just a super half-ass workmanship.

Not trying to start a war here because I love my Z2 but, look at what happens when you send in a Rane mixer for repair.


Again I own 2 Z2 and have owned 2 Rane mixers. If NI is going to sell hardware they have to offer better support for that hardware when something goes wrong.
