Browser Flickering

I'm a very long term (since ~2003) TPro user.... wedding DJ and with huge collection (170k).... and was beta testing TPro in the group for long.

Now, with the new 3.5, the browser flickering of Traktor got worse then on 3.4 and before. Up until 3.4 it was only happening when I have the Track Collection dropdown open in the playlist browser. It seemed to be that the browser flickers (renews the view) when something was searched for.
I know, this comes together with the huge collection, when I use a pretty small one with just i.e. the traktor tracks, you can't see it.

Now, with 3.5 it looks like that the browser renews and therefore flickers also when the track collection dropdown is closed in the playlist window. So it flickers ALL THE TIME. Annoying. And sometimes, when I'm about to choose something and try to edit, it throws me back from inline editing.

This is up to making traktor not useable in live situations. It's not only ugly (if someone looking from behind), it disturbs my eyes. Aftern an hour not only Traktor is flickering, my eyes go crazy too.

As said, I know this flickering for long long time, but not that harsh.

Similar issue here but not as prolific as you described. Might be related to your (older) computer specs.

 

I've noticed the same thing going on in the browser. Its been a lot more prominent after the upgrade to 3.5

 

I experience Flickering on my Traktor Pro Browser even with the previous version.

Here is my observation.

Obeservation 1 - When loading a track from a Smart Playlist

-the waveform will start to lag but the audio is unaffected (normal sound)
-the tracks on the browser will keep on flickering for about/within 10-30 seconds
-the cue points are not that very responsive during these period of flickering

Observation 2 - When I load the same track from the Explorer Tab (not from the Smart Playlist)

-smooth playing of waveforms
-no flickering on the browser
-cue points are responsive

My Personal Conclusion - The Smart List Feature Is The Culprit

-it's not my macbook's problem since loading the same track from the explorer works fine

I used to love Traktor because it is unique and gives nice audio output. I had been tempted to move back to Serato when I learned that Traktor is not showing a sign of doing a Video Mixing feature but I still stayed with Traktor. Now that, I am experiencing this problem, it really messed up my workflow and can reflect into a bad performance. I believe most DJs are not willing to take that risk.

As of the moment, I am again entertaining the idea of moving to a different DJ Software that can keep up with DJ's workflow.

Hopefully, I am the only one having this kind of thought. I still want to see Traktor to thrive and succeed. There is a great that I will be back with Traktor when they can keep up with other DJ Softwares in terms being "User Friendly" but as of the moment, I am more willing to give up Traktor than to ruin my brand/reputation as a DJ (loading tracks from smart list problem).
