This is a weird one. I have the latest version 5.14 installed.

PC Dual Core 2.0 GH, Reaktor 5.14, Cakewalk Sonar

I use SONAR to do sequencing, and after recording a sequence using STEAM preset 2 (Pan), I noticed that after I start playback, the pitch is now 1/2 step lower. If I trigger new notes from the midi controller, the pitch is now also 1/2 step lower. I subseuently determined that the issue occurs as soon as I hit the record 'Stop' button - so as soon as I stop recording the pitch is now 1/2 step lower.

If I save the recorded sequence and restart SONAR, the pitch for the Reaktor plug-in is also saved in its 1/2 step lower state.

This issue does not happen with any other VST plugin I use.

Can anyone else try sequencing and playback using the 5.14 version and let me know the results? Today is Xmas and I am trying to get a song I wrote delivered as a present to someone.

    Thanks

Correction and more info. It is a whole step pitch drop. More info - This ONLY happens using the Stem Pipe preset # 2 (Pan). Further, if I start playback the sequence using a different preset, such as #16 ARC Bass, stop the sequence, change the preset to # 2 (Pan), and continue the playback, the pitch is fine. But if I start the playback on preset # 2 (Pan), then the pitch drop is heard. The actual midi events are recorded as the proper notes.

VERY weird. Please help me fix this for Xmas so I can send off my new song.

Uncheck zero controllers when play stops in your MIDI out menu in your project options in Sonar. The mod wheel's resetting to zero, which is what's giving you the dive...

That fixed the issue - but I am still mystified as to why it only affected that one patch, and further, since I was not using any mod wheel whatsoever, how that would even come into play.

In any case, happy holidays and THANKS!

Because the mod wheel's somewhat open by default with the patch; that's why (look at the knob named mod-whl in the global section). If you look at the patch, the mod wheel's affecting both pitch and the filter...

Wow! You're good. Perhaps I can go for broke on a Sonar follow question. (I didn't know the original problem was Sonar related - but since we are there at the moment)

On playback, at the and of all midi events, there is a rather rude sort of sound 'jolt'. It doesn't occur when I simply stop playback, but it happens at the end if I just let the sequence play all the way through. Any thoughts? (I promise no more off-topic questions)

    Thanks again

Sure. Go into your audio menu in Sonar, and under the advanced tab, check play effect tails after stopping.
