Bug Reports for Traktor Pro 2.5.1 (NO Ranting please!)

I have had the same with a few tracks so far.

 

I had this issue and I believe I resolved it:

When I used a filter I would have a pop or crack in the sound

I re-analyzed everything in my collection and now the pop is gone and everything is fine when using filters. My new problem is a lot of my Beatgrids are off.

 

Crackles and pops and slow downs

This is a great update and the only thing stopping me from deploying in the club is the below.

Track is playing, every 60 seconds crackles apprear and the track sounds like it slows down slightly. Lasts for about 3 seconds then dissapears. Ive timed this at many differing BPM's etc but still every 60 seconds it appears. Very noticable, nothing to do with Key lock, Sync etc all turned off, no other deck playing. Used Performance monitor, CPU etc all low.

Op Sys Windows 7 Ultimate.

 

I had the same problem, You need to change your scratch setting from FAST CPU to SLOW CPU.

 

Fixed the digital sounding vs. proper scratch sound issue: Preferences>Key Lock>mode should = scratch (normal makes the digital sound)

 

Heavens. This has worked for me.

*cough* Why does "Normal" appear under High CPU then? *cough* This appears to be an aesthetic setting --- and an important one --- yah?

I think the settings need some clarification from NI here. Why would anyone want "normal"? There's nothing "normal" about it.

Of note I finally heard back from NI concerning these issues and their stock response (from two different techs) was to install the Beta drivers. It appears that none of them bothered to read that my device is Firewire, and neither bothered to reply when I pointed it out.

So... these Forums are a lifesaver. Thanks everyone.

 

Normal appears under Fast CPU, right, and it may be pointing towards the fact that "unnaturally" keeping the key locked on, for example, slow and precise movements like scratching, may provide a stress that a slower cpu can't handle, increasing the chances of the audio engine to fail.

However, Normal mode's duty is to keep the key locked in the range between -100% and 100% pitch. In Scratch mode it applies just in the range of -30% to 30%, to provide scratching with a natural sound (hence the name scratch for this mode).

It's kinda weird how that is put in the preferences dialog, but it has sense in purpose.

 

Traktor Pro download does not work with Numark 4TRAK

PLEASE HELP,
Just got my Numark 4trak. I bought the upgrade traktor pro download from NI, installed but found that all the FX knobs buttons at the top of the numark do not wrk. also, I cannot see them on the computer screen as I see on the traktor version that comes with the 4trak.

Please help…. anyone out there ! have a nice day !

 

Bpm drift

I am running traktor 2.5.1 on 2 laptops and found that the BPM drifts. The laptops are the same and have the same specs. I tested it by playing the same track at the same time on different laptops at the same BPM. The beat grids are all properly placed so I don't know what's going on. The BPM is not stable when trying to sync BPM via Xone 4D midi clock as well. I also found that when importing my playlist from 2.5 the cue points were a bit off (it was not set directly on the grid where I placed it.) When loading a track, the cue points don't show up until I hit play or cue. I also get the flashing in my browser.

I forgot to mention this one. It happens randomly for me. Not a very serious issue, but who needs this flashing effect which diverts attention?

 

i guess the flashing might be fixed in the next update, just ignore it for now.

 

Anyone else get traktor quit unexpectedly whenever you quit traktor? 2.5.1 snow leopard and mountain lion

 

it happens to me every time i close it since i updated to 2.5.1! also i got a strange electric sound when i use traktor with the onboard sound card. any help plz? i am running windows 7.
cpu: intel i5, 6 gig ram

 

I've got about as powerful of a rig as one could ever hope for and my experience with 2.5 and 2.5.1 is horrible. Actually it is virtually unusable.

My laptop has an i7 with 8 processor cores and 16GB of RAM, a separate HDD bay with a 10K internal SATA 750GB dedicated drive for my music library. The library is huge >70K songs but that wasn't a problem with previous versions of Traktor.

After upgrade I experience:
Random crashes - application just closes
1+ second per letter lag time when searching for a song.
Fatal errors when exiting application
Extremely high CPU usage
2-3 attempts to open the application in order to get the GUI to show on the screen. Must kill process in task manager before trying to open again.

Going to have to go back to VDJ if this doesn't get fixed soon. I can't have my software go down in the middle of a set.

Anyone else have it this bad?

 

do i dare ask what operating system runs that powerful rig?

i have almost exactly 1/4 of your specs and traktor 2.5.1 runs just fine….recently I've been running resolute arena 4 on the side as well

so its definitely not about raw power

 

similar spec'd machine as you ..but no problems.

Could be the way the OS is installed, maybe a little over active cleaning deleted something required.

I'm guessing obviously, but seeing as my laptop is similar, it can't be about number crunching power.

You've done all the obvious things, like optimised the OS, separate partitions, blah blah blah ....i take it.

The next stage to see why the thing is closing on you, go to EVENT VIEWER in windows (whatever it's called on a mac) and look for the application crash report and get back to me.

don't give up yet ....

 

It's definitely not a problem with the OS. As I mentioned previous versions of Traktor worked perfectly. It was as soon as I upgraded. The most immediately noticeable thing was/is the lag while searching. This machine doesn't lag while doing anything! But Traktor changed all that... LOL. It's definitely a software issue. Win7 Pro 64-bit with tons of RAM on an i7 processor... This machine doesn't know how to do anything slowly. I haven't checked the logs yet. That was a good suggestion. I'll post back if I find anything glaring.

Just realized that I'm not running 2.5.1 (according to the event log) even though I ran that update. I'll back up all of my custom settings and re-install again. Hopefully I'll have better luck.

 

i get you mate the same thing happens to me! and i have installed and uninstalled the traktor a million times and still the same! what can i do?
it must be a windows problem they should get an update fixing this bug for windows.i havent heard from a mac user to have this problem.

@Eargaszm Exception code 0xc0000005 = corrupt file system

use SFC.EXE /SCANNOW at the command line (you will need to run as admin), this will fix any problems with the system files.


Exception code 0xc0000374, happens a lot with malware, bad drivers, uncertified antivirus packages.

Fix = trail and error to locate the file thats causing the crashed app
