Bug Reports for Traktor Pro 2.5 (NO Ranting please!)

Ok...after reading some of the other threads related to the new version of our favorite Digital DJ app I decided to start this thread for people to list the problems they are facing so others can try to replicate it & on the whole for us to help the Traktor team to fix the problems ASAP

Please keep it simple & to the point...please don't rant & go off topic...your music management/warping skills (or lack thereof) is of no interest in this thread

So here are the bugs/problems i have encountered so far on my Macbook Pro running 10.7.4 with a Kontrol S4

1...the channel level LED indicator NEVER hits orange...i like to set gain manually so this isn't a good thing ( since i usually hit orange and then bring it down till it stops peaking) right now the LED is hitting a brick wall at the last blue...so the orange one has become redundant

2. using the hot cue buttons on the S4 to go to the next clip works but seems a bit buggy...the two occasions i tried it it behaved in different ways...but one thing it isn't doing for sure is going back up...so if you use hot cue 1 to go down slots on the first remix deck you get stuck and can't go back up... another thing it did related to this was very unusual while i was fiddling around trying to figure out how the hot cue buttons & remix decks interact...it placed a loop in slot 7..or 8 :s which was not visible before... basically its moving to a different bank... all that happens using only the Kontrol S4..but can be viewed & undone only when using the mouse..



please feel free to test for these issues on your system and report other bugs you have encountered for the rest of us to try out (please mention what your setup is along with every new bug report)

 

Full Screen is not working?

Full screen isn't working on my imac 27....haven't had time to disconnect the other monitor to see if that helps, but this wasn't an issue before?

 

1. Decks continually drop out of absolute mode by themselves.
2. Duplicating decks doesn't keep the bpm as the song you are trying to duplicate.

 

Traktor 2.5 ignores all the beat (grid) markers in track except for the first one, which makes all grid related features (like effects, loops, sync e.t.c) totally useless. I'm using OSX version on Macbook Pro 2011 with Lion 10.7.4 and i don't know what about the PC version.

 

Happens in PC version too.

 

full screen works fine on my 17" MBP...i haven't installed the new version on my desktop yet... i hadn't planned on it...but if i do install ill let you know

Tried Duplicating at different tempos...no problem yet...

not sure what you mean by "decks continually drop out of absolute mode"
are you talking about the tempo faders?

 

fault with the key lock turned on.

When I turn it on in HiQ mode I seem to get pops/clicks every so often whilst the track is playing (which didn't occur in 2.1.2). I don't have the tracks pitched up loads around 1% and the track seems to slow down and distort slightly with a pop/click sound every so often.

I was just playing around with the new version as we all do and this didn't seem right and wanted to see if anyone else has this happening.

I am using a 2011MBP quad core and I am not getting any CPU spikes and the latency etc is exactly how it was in the previous version (I have also adjusted the latency to try to eliminate the problem and narrowed it down to the Key Lock at fault). I have turn off the key lock and it seems to be fine with a track playing.

 

My decks keep dropping from absolute into relative mode at random times.

 

i never use key lock...just tried by setting both decks to key lock & taking one track down -10% then syncing the other...both tracks were in key...left them playing... didn't recreate the pops

however i noticed i couldn't sync at first...using the sync button was not matching the beats at all...i later realized it was because i had a remix deck fader up... since they can now be tempo masters...and since it was the last deck in play mode...sync was using that deck as master clock...

 

Sound Issues with Traktor Pro 2.5

I am having the same issue. When I revert back to the old version, sound is fine. Every time I try the new version, same problem.

 

When loading duplicate tracks from iTunes node, Traktor disables BPM lock, you then have to set BPM lock on again. So I have had to disable and re-enable BPM lock on all tracks for this to stop happening. Why did it do this? And waste my time.

 

What computer you using with Traktor fella ?

 

Found something else thats really odd...and limiting...the remix decks don't seem to get processed via the fx units! i was just trying a full jam session...and only the two track decks were being processed & the remix decks were just passing thru...

if this happening with anyone else?

 

Did you
- assign the FX unit to the remix deck AND
- enable FX for the slots?

thats what it looks like...effects are assigned and on...but are doing nothing to the signal from the remix deck

 

Yes, the FX unit is assigned to the deck
but the FX is not enabled for the slot

hover over the title above the slots, then the four buttons show up
one is labelled FX, click it, and you have FX on your slot

 

The Time Remaining display bug is still there. When the track finishes, a large number is displayed. It usually ends with ...2788:15. And it doesn't always go away after loading a new track. It's been there since T2 came out.

 

that one looks scary. i am constantly adding playlists from itunes, whenever i modify their content there, since we still have no smart pls in traktor...

i have tried to reproduce it, but it didn't happen.

could you please elaborate the details that lead that to happen?

exact steps, file type, etc.

wow...that is hardcore...that remix set i loaded must have been saved with those deactivated...im sure it was on before i upgraded...and all my other settings seem to be the same as before

i wonder if there are dedicated controls on the F1 to keep putting those on & off!

thanks for helping with this though...thats one thing i can strike off my list!

 

mine works fine...same with the full screen option( even can open the window bigger now on my 24" screen via mini-DP HDMI connection)
