Since I moved to Win 7 64bit I miss the simple interface where you could assign each button! It already included templates for each program. How do I connect the buttons with Cubase's transport now? I want one button to start recording and the other to function as ctrl+z.

yeah really! miss that too! where is it?
i recently bought an audio kontrol 1 and installed it for the first time now on windows xp (32bit). i saw that interface you pictured in reviews and adds, being able to simulate key-commands to daw's was one of the reasons to buy it. but now all i see is a very simple interface of the controller editor, sending only midi commands. has the functionality been reduced in recent versions?
    thanks for answers,
    wostok

    driver version: 2.0.15.7
    controller editor: v1.3.2

Hey guys, I just updated a few components and it looks like the controller editor is now where you can change the AK1 button functions, as they prompted me to remove the "now obsolete" Audio Kontrol 1 app. Give it a try!

well, that seems to be exactly the point! (although the other way round...)
all i have is the - apparently new, as you say - "controller editor", which is very simple and can only be programmed to send midi-messages. and there are no templates at all for automating other software (at least i didn't find any).
so does this mean there has been a different app before, which had more features like simulating keyboard commands? and had templates for e.g. cubase included? why has this been suspended? is this old "audio kontrol 1 app" still available?

Yes, the Native Instruments Controller Editor is an all-in-one midi editor for all products of NI. It might be usefull for the users of Guitar Rig, etc. but it's totally useless for AK 1. It seems they were forced to update their drivers and software for 64 bit systems and didn't want to spend much time and energy on AK 1. The funcionality of the Controller Editor in comparison to the former editor is maybe 10% (in my case 0%). I wonder why there is noone else complaining about this issue to motivate NI to fully update their product.
