Hi guys, i've got traktor scratch pro, 1 technics 1200mk5, M-audio trigger finger and a BCD3000. The BCD3000 just isnt cutting it for me. I am in the market for a new used mixer that I will be purchasing most likely on EBAY or a trading forum. I am a house/club/electro DJ and will probably get a CDJ in the future. What mixer do you guys recomend? I would want effects on mine... but im not really sure what an FX loop is. So what do you guys think?

The Pioneer mixers are kind of a "industry standart", so you take DJM 800, or DJM 600 which is not so expensive, but DJM 800 can act like a midi controller. But I gotta tell you, although I have DJM 600 - Pioneers are really tuff, you can abuse their mixers every night without a problem, but for me that's a trade for good sound quality. That is why I love Allen&Heath, but maybe my next one will be Ecler Evo 4 - you shold check it out - it is digital like DJM 800, but with more efx and it sounds right, warm and not so digital. That's from me, but buying mixer is like buying headphones - we all have a different opinion about it, so - try it, if you like it - buy it.;)

I'm not a big fan of the Pioneers but for better or worse, they are pretty much the industry standard. I happen to think they're actually overpriced for what you get. As far as A&H, I had a XONE:02 as did my brother and both of them had issues within one year, so I can't say I'm sold on those either. Right now I have a couple of Mackie D.4 mixers and a D.2. They're both very solid and the firewire connectivity (and Traktor Scratch certification) is great. No effects, but there is an effects loop and there are dual filters on the D.4. I love it. That would be my recommendation...

Ecler stuff is pretty decent - great sound and loads of features.

    Plus they look nice...

Pioneer mixers are not near the standard of Ecler or Allen & Heath.

The Korg 4 feels like a flimsy weak cheap piece of kit - saw it in a shop.

Pioneer and Ecler and A&H are rock solid.

Think to the future mate. Will you always want decks? If not then you need a mixer will run TPro.

I sold all decks and have the A&H 4D and I love it to bits.

Hey zolomander, do you plan on taking your equipment out for gigs, or is this for home use ( making cd's, mp3's,etc)? It seems that $ is a concern for you, as well as the rest of us, so even "used" mixers may be costly. Pioneer is the standard, A&H and Ecler look hot, but if you plan to just use the mixer in your home set up, you may want to consider the Behringer djx750 or the ddm4000. They can get the job done, and you will hace some coin in your pocket to get some other gear. Outside of the others, this is the only other mixer I am currently looking at.
