I'm one of those laptop guys at the moment. It hasn't always been that way, but that's how I'm trying to work right now. I own plenty of "classic" analog synths and drum machines (rotten caps, drifting oscillators and all), but they can't join me in a coffee shop, or at a friends house, or on my lunch break at work - - once Pro-53 is as immobile as a hardware synth, it's usefulness to me is pretty much at an end - - given that I can't handle the maintenance inherent in an original Prophet, Dave Smiths Prophet '08 would be my preference for an immobile scenario - - much different sound than both the original and Pro-53, but a similar architecture and a pleasing overall experience via the physical interface. . . . but you make a good point for those whom the sound was the only important factor, not the convenience.

...I cannot stop thinking about the implementation of Pro-53 features into Massive and I have experimented a lot with Massive's PWM oscillators and its filters. Magically, this time I have achieved some good results here (please note that the whole thing for me isn't necessarily about properly emulating a Prophet 5) and I thought about the required enhancements for Massive to get closer to the Pro-53. I have posted about this in the Massive Feature Request Forum: http://www.native-instruments.com/forum/showthread.php?t=94084

Please, tell me what you guys think...

I totally understand since you are using a lap top. In my project studio full of 9 hardware synths etc it is easy to forget someone composing with just a laptop.

Hopefully the day isn't far away where new operating systems can handle software written on the old ones.
