    I've just bought and installed Kore on my dual G5 running OSX 10.4.7. I didn't even try to run it until I'd downloaded and updated to the latest driver and version 1.02 of the Kore software.

    On running Kore standalone, it freezes when scanning CA5000.component. Removing the CA5000 (Cameleon) component temporarily from the audio/plugins/components folder enables Kore to complete its scan. However, since Camel Audio offer a Kore library file for Cameleon, I would have thought it would scan okay.

    I've updated Cameleon to the latest version, but Kore still won't scan it properly, I just get the spinning beachball of doom...

    Anyone had a similar problem? I searched but couldn't find any references...

    Use the VST version.

    From the 1.0.2 readme:

    For the following vendors/plugins Mac users should favor the
    VST format: Rob Papen Blue; Camel Audio CA5000; Arturia; GMedia;
    Applied Acoustic Systems

    Thanks for the quick reply.

    I'd already seen that in the readme file, and if I wanted to use Cameleon inside Kore, I would of course use the VST version. However, Logic 7.1 is my main sequencer and if I want to use Cameleon inside of Logic, I'd rather not have to run it as a VST hosted inside of Kore.

    I have Audio Units from both Arturia and Gmedia too which are mentioned in the readme file, but they seem to pass Kore's scanning routine.

    For the time being, I'll just leave the CA5000 component out of the plugins folder. I assume that eventually it will be fixed, either by NI or Camel Audio themselves...

    Regards
    Andrew

    That one's easy enough to get around in theory. Have you tried the prefer VST to AU option in KORE's options menu?
