    HI:

I insert BS in the DXi with a midi file and it takes for ever to load the instruments and the program is not stable.

Then when I save Bandstand in a project, it doesn't work when I reopen the project, it does not save BS right.

I like most of the sounds, the kick drum is to boomy it's not a fat kick with a peddle click.

I just bought Homestudio Sonar with VST, that might help.

    Toshiba Laptop M35x s349
    Pentimum M 1.7
    512 ram
    hard drive 80gig 4200 speed.

To me that's a fast machine.

It's getting where I will be spending alot of money to run your Instrument, ie more ram and new hard drive.

I play live with my laptop and Homestudio using VSC. I was looking for new sounds, new back up band. For $200 right now this does not work for me. NI should have looked at other GM/GS software sound modules, to see how the load and play in all inviroment ie Edirols products.

Edirol's VSC loads fast and plays without any problems.

I like the concept of your module, if you help fix the problems I have, that would be greatly appricated. As so now the software is usless to me!

    Thanks
    Tom

    Hi Tom,

did you install Bandstand 1.0.1? the DXi reload problem should not occur in that version.

512 MB is just enough to run Bandstand stand-alone. if you want to use a host, I strongly recommend upgrading to at least 768 MB RAM, better get another 512 MB right away. that should take care of the "unstablility" too. your machine is probably constantly swapping RAM to your hard drive.

please try first with more RAM and then with a faster external hard drive. that will also enhance your DFD performance. see the thread below for some hard disk tips. another option is a very fast USB stick but that is still a little pricy.

    Hi:
I have installed the new update and 512 ram. BS still takes time to load in Cakewalk. It takes about 20 sec to load all midi instruments and will not save BS in Cakewalk.

    I will try VST today.

    Thanks
    Tom

    Hi Tom,

I installed Sonar 5 to repro your DXi save problem below. Seems to work fine, though. could you please let me know step-by-step what you do to save the Bandstand state in your host?

the loading time should be around 12-15 sec on a desktop on average - your time sounds reasonable for a laptop. if you want, you can zip your MIDI file and attach it to your next post. then we can compare times.

    Best,
    Markus
