What does it mean when there is a red sailboat looking icon in front of the calibration area? Its only on one deck.. This wasnt the case until I moved my tables and needed longer cables. at first one wouldnt calibrate and kept gettinh low signal or something but I somehow fixed it but now this little icon. Is this a problem?. Everything sounds fine

i think its a groundloop isue... or a earth issue.. check your earth cables are conected properly... check in the manual.... this is the best way to solve this problem as they have all the diferent pictures of possbile problems with the timecode scope thingii.

im now using the rca cables that came with my stanton str8 150 TTs. still cant get rid of that red symbol.

when i calibrate it seems to calilibrate just fine but a second later that symbol pops up and the Relative Tracking Mode icon is not highlighted any more, it switches to the play button. so in order to scratch i have to switch it back to the Relative Tracking Mode or the Absolute Tracking Mode

when i do the audio plays fine but when i stop my TT from spinning, the orange sync bar/phase meter starts going backwards real fast. there is no audio while its doing this

i dont get it. it was just working fine and then after i move my TTs from my desk into a dj coffin (not too far from my desk) i have this problem.

the manual says something about a ground wire but the stanton str8 150 has a ground lift switch instead and no matter what setting i have the switch set to, it doesnt make a difference

i get the same symbol on both decks now as apposed to just one

tried everything i could think of
    any more suggestions?

    thanks

may be a silly question.. but does it sound ok when not usign traktor? usign normal vinyl, does it craclke or anything?

this is the quote from the ts2 instruction manual ,
it has a picture of the "sail boat" then says this under

    WHY: Defective grounding of turntables.
FIX: Please ensure that the grounding wire of the turntable is connected to the ground on your
mixer or audio interface and that your turntables and cables are in good working order.
Note that the ground hum warning may be triggered when playing "normal" audio records into
a timecode input, and also when a CD player is connected to a Phono input. You can disregard
    the warning in this case.

" and also when a CD player is connected to a Phono input." this may be where the issue lies.
    ---
if im right in thinking those decks have a selectable line or phono output.. have you checked you are connected to a phono input if u have phono selected, or line input if u have line selected..

    Thanks for replying fuzzy logic.

Yes I tried switching the phone/line switch in accordance to what I have selected. still nothing. Im gonna have new cables tomorrow and will see if this helps. Maybe I accidentally hit a switch or something. Im gonna mess around with a bit. If the new cables fail, im gonna put my TTs back at my desk and see what happens

    Thanks again

using all brand new heavy duty rca cables. now the red symbol dims from low to fully lit and some times even goes away on deck A.

as far as when i stop the platter, this is what it looks like now

also the time line cursor on both decks seem to stay moving really slow slow but outputs no audio when doing so

when i start traktor, shouldnt the calibration area say waiting until it detects my TTs spinning?
upon start up of traktor they automatically calibrate (second attachment)

    no, the calibration happens automatically.

but - the medium cannot be detected. so you're either in the wrong input mode on your audio x or you cabled stuff wrong. can you post some more screenshots/pictures?

You maybe have a disconnected cartridge cable (if you aren't using a concord like cartridge). Or maybe the cart isn't making a good contact with the tone arm..

DJ Freshfluke, what would you like in the screen shots?

Mob One, im fairly new to djing. are you saying i should change the needle head? i tried swapping them with each other.

could too much rumble of the TTs cause this? say if they kinda got dropped?. i recently bought a dj stand that collapsed and and my equipment went down... twice. not so hard the first time cuz i was able to grab it as it went down to kinda break the fall. they were secure as the coffin was closed, but could that be what the issue is? hope not. both times the coffin landed flat so i dont think so

    thanks guys

actually the medium detects fine (screenshot) but it looks slightly different from the example in the manual. is the line supposed to go all the way though like this?

now i have a constant hum/buzz sound when my TTs are connected to the A6 no matter what cables i use. might have been there but could never tell cuz its not that loud.

i think this is whats causing the track in the deck to keep playing even when the platter is stopped and the tonearm isnt even on the time code vinyl.

what could fix this? is it my turntables? could it be the mixer?
    startn to hate this
    ---
    figured it out!

it was the plug outlet. i unplugged everything from the A6 except one TT and i still had the buzz sound so i new it wasn't the mixer. i unplugged the TT and put it back n front of my pc and plugged it back into where it was plugged when i first hooked everything up and it calibrated fine. platter stops and the wave form in the deck no longer keeps moving :)

im going to order longer power cords for my TTs

i use a monster cable PowerCenter surge protector where i wasn't getting problems

any idea on what the problem is with the other outlet? i was using a Belkin mini surge protector but even without it the buzz problem still remained

is there something i can do besides get longer power cords?

thanks to the guys who tried to help

i meant the audio prefs and some pics from the actual cabling and so on, but as you seem to have the solution: google ground hum. this is your buzz (ha! note the word play ^^) word.
