Can anyone tell me, which Version is NOT buggy?

    Guys I got really stuck!

I have tested 2.6.8/2.10.013 and 2.10.2 but all do have bad bugs which makes me very unsure for my gig next week.

    What I found so far:

2.6.8: ID Tags do not shown in Explorer view
2.10.013: Even in stopped decks no load possible
2.10.2: A. Suddenly freezing on non specific functions. B. Loading tracks when deck playing is possible even with enabled 'Loading only into stopped decks'

All version are working really bad in sync mode. I play hip hop beats, and sometimes use scratch on kicks. What I found out is: 1. Crackles in audio when sync is on, 2. When both decks playing and one is stopped, there comes a small delay in the playing deck. 3. Scratching let the deck freeze and the program needs to be closed and opened manually.

So my question is, which version is working reliable?! And how do you guys perform with such buggy software during gigs?

Sorry but I am really pissed off, don't understand why such nice software is getting worser and worser every update.

Hope you guys can tell me which version is best to use.

    2.6.8

Been using it since release and I've had precisely zero problems with it at all.

How do you overcome the ID Tag issue in 2.6.8?

From a performance point of view 2.6.8 seems to be the most stable, although it still has bugs.

2.6.8 is stable and has the least bugs, however, it doesn't support the latest hardware.
I use 2.10.13 and have unchecked "Only load tracks into stopped decks" to get around the empty deck lock bug. I haven't had any performance/stability problems with this version other than that.
Some of the problems you report sound like they might be related to the computer system.

This version runs quite good on my system except this issue with loading tracks. I had it once during practice but I am scary how this should be during a gig, and I have one next weekend.
Deactivating this feature is also quite risky.

    Any other ideas on this?

At the risk of sounding like a complete idiot, I have no idea what you're talking about. The ID tag issue obviously doesn't affect me, though it would be interesting to know what it is.

Tags have never been an issue as far as I'm aware. I don't use MiK (yet) and any tag editing I do in Mp3Tag sticks 99% of the time - I have an occasional issue in the comments bit which replaces what I've written with a 0 but I fix that by right clicking the file and redoing the tag in Windows. Beyond that there's nothing regarding tags that I have a problem with.

Edit (forgot to write this bit):

As far as stability goes, TSP 2.6.8 is as stable as any software I've used. No pops, no clicks, no wibbles.

TSP 2.6.8 though has many bugs is at least stable. All releases after have been highly reported as unstable and high risky if you ask me. NI does a crap job of testing.

NI can't seem to produce a stable release.. wish they would get their act together but look like they continue to slide down hill.

To be honest.. If you look for any Software in this Universe that is written by human beiings you probably wont find something really bugfree :)

Well i completly understand that worries of running into a bug that may be the showstopper during your next gig but i think its fatal to see everything from the worst case that may maybe appear! If you dont feel ready for any reason or know you cant guarantee a working setup then just dont do it!

I spinned years (nearly every weekend) with the 2.6.8 .. then for a long time the 2.7.3 and now since months the 2.10.013. I played on Windows XP(!), on Windows 7 and also now on OS-X.
All in combination with changing clubgear on different locations. I am very sure i am not the only person doing that without issues!

I am aware of existing bugs in all releases but they dont really affect my main work as DJ and there is almost a workaround or a working compromise for everything. For my personal feeling this software is stable enough to do a professional job and i still trust in that!

If it would not be able to spin without dropouts, freezes, glitches, skips or anything else that is caused by my gear i dont wanted the audience to hear, i would immediatly change. Since i could never afford that, i would either start to exchange components or everything from scratch. Quickly! This may take maximum until the next gig or the next weekend! And yes i would also change the software and every single piece of hardware it it fails to do what i have to do!

2.6.8 and 2.10 are both rock stable (mc off on 2.10 !) ...if you have your win configured/tweaked right ;-)
