For some reason completely unknown to me, when I insert an instance of K2 (either VST or DXi), it insists on spinning up all my CD/DVD drives until they're all going "wwwwWRRRWRWRWRWRRRRR!!!!" for about a minute before finally obliging my sequencer by making an appearance.

Why on earth does it have to do this? Am I supposed to just empty all my CD trays before loading K2?

Is it possible to stop it doing this?

    :(

Kontakt is refreshing the intrument lists on all drives.

You should ALWAYS keep all you removable media drives empty.

Hi everyone, K2 seems to be behaving nicely now and I think I know why.

I don't have a floppy drive installed, but in my BIOS, A: was still set as an active drive.

I think the long pause on startup wasn't, in fact, due to the CD drives but polling on a non-existant floppy disk.

Since switching it off in the BIOS, windows no longer thinks it sees a floppy drive and Kontakt2 seems to load up within a couple of seconds.
