i'm using live ableton live as my main sequencer, but i'm wondering how to chain some of the cool generative melodic sequencers found in some reaktor ensembles to trigger kontakt instruments, especially the orchestral instruments...

    thanks!

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but the problem in ableton is this: once you put an instrument or effect in a midi channel you lose the ability to route its midi out. A workaround is to load a Reaktor sequencer as an instrument and then chain an effects plugin in the same midi track - but I'm not familiar enough with Kontakt to know if it comes in VST effect flavor.

There is, of course, the possibility of loading something else with more flexible routing in a Live midi track, like the EnergyXT VST or VSTi, then using that to chain Reaktor into Kontakt.

You can use MIDIYoke, but EnergyXT or Plogue Bidule's a much more elegant solution. I use EnergyXT for that purpose myself- works great.

I second the Bidule suggestion. Excellent MIDI filtering and routing.
