now before you immidiatly hit the "no" button, here is my situation. I just bought komplete 10 ultimate and the (in my opinion awesome) NI midi controler kontrol-s series (61) for my company. The point is, i know i can read that i can install it on a maximum of 3 systems but there are restrictions.

My company has 2 locations and i work at location A or B and my collegue works at location B.

So i want to install it at both locations so we can work and that itself is ok accorsing to my licence but what i dont get, can or can't i use the software at the same time on both locations?

In other words what is allowed and what isnt?

I mean after buying the above, (komplete 10 ultimate and midi controler Kontol-s), does the licence allow me to run it on 2 locations at the same time so me and my partner can work on both locations?

No it does not, you would need another Komplete license to run it a both locations (at the same time). It is for you to use, not you and your partner.

so, i AM allowed to install it at maximum 3 computers, but i am NOT allowed to run it on 2 systems at the same time...... see the confusing part here? Why not just sell it with the licence to install it on 1 system and not 3. If i am allowed to install it at maximum 3 computers, i should be able to run it on all 3 systems at the same time? Or pay a min amount for another licence instead of having to buy the complete package again for another 1000 euro

anyway if this is the way it is, thats the way it is.. but from my part of view as a consumer in this case, it's not really a logical one... Thanks for the respons bluzkat by the way.

I use it on two systems myself all the time, not illogical at all. PC and Notebook...

That's pretty much standard for most software, allow multiple installs for desktop, laptop, etc. And that's for the convenience of you the consumer.

oh! people! You may three installations have at the same time, but use only one.
Just who cares ... Sometimes you have to use two computers ... here in Germany we also say "if there is no plaintiff. There is no judge"
It is surely rather to prevent that give someone his second and third instalations further.
Just forget it! You put so your installation to dispose other...that's not allowed. As with almost any software.

That's exactly the point: One licence is needed per person.

So the buyer is allowed to register on max. 3 computers, but only the buyer, not his brother, not his friend and especially NOT his colleague. If a company buys the product, it buys it for ONE employee, not a whole department ;)

Some vendors have per PC licences alterantively to per user licencing for the case, that several employees of the buying company share one PC. As far as I know NI only has user licencing.

The purpose of 3 allowed installations is mainly aimed at upgrades ... example: I bought Komplete and installed it on an old notebook. When it dies, I buy a new notebook and install Komplete the second time without the need to contact support.

The buyer is also allowed to install to 3 computers simultaniously, because it is unlikely, that all three are also used simultaniously, but rotationally / alternatively.

I have my studio pc downstairs with all the trimmings (monitors, gear, etc.). I also have a workstation the study next to my bedroom which a much smaller space, so I use headphones only, and has a less powerful pc. This is where I basically "learn" how to use the new toys I get.

While Komplete Ultimate 11 is fully installed on my main box (downstairs) I WAS about to install parts of it upstairs (Rounds) so I can grok how to use it. Then I read this...

It is not required to unregister or deactivate your original activation in order to activate your Native Instruments products on a new (3rd or 4th - see EULA above) computer. However, it is required to uninstall the product from a previously used computer.

...huh? Surely this does not mean I have to go downstairs and uninstall rounds then go upstairs and install it, then do the reverse when I go back downstairs. ..cuz, that is totally "Bass Ackwards"...

Especially in light of NeonPower's comment.

    ...please illuminate o_O

    thank you kindly

You are allowed to install Komplete on three computers at the same time, but only use one (of these three) install(s) at a time.
If you want to install Komplete on computer #4, then you need to uninstall Komplete on one of the old computers, so you have three installs in total at the same time again.

I hope this makes it more clear ;)

It's too bad. I need to offload Kontakt and let it process on a different synched machine to keep the sound card from crackling (or set the audio buffer so large that playing live is not feasible) with some of the larger samples. But that requires the software to work on both machines.
