Can you still change a track pattern in a group while the scene plays in 2.0?

I guess what I'm asking is can you still audition different track patterns in a group while the scene plays like in 1.8?

I would always make a lot of different patters for the hi-hat track and while the scene was playing/looping I would audition them to see which one fit the best.

Is it as easy to do this in 2.0 as it was is 1.8?

    See example pic below

patt 366.png Track 2 - Hi-Hats... from patt.5 to patt.2 while the scene is looping.

I really hope they didn't change this to much... it was so easy to just click through different track patterns on the fly while the scene plays.

Well I just found the answer to my question.

NI has gotten rid of the 16 pattern slots above the pattern section and has replaced that with the "Pattern manager"... see pic below.

I found the answer in the video below at 3:32.... This video actually answered a couple of question I had about the 2.0 software.

I like this version did not
    for me
version 1.8 is so much better to arrange and edit pattern
    for creating variations ETC.
This new menu should remain as stable surface at the edge.
    then it would be good.

ya you can but mainly from the hardware now because the patterns tabs are not visible unless in pattern manager.

nice vid I think I just got my automation and modulation handled now.

    2.0 is a beast

Yeah... with 2.0 it's 2 steps... first you have to open the Pattern Manager... then you can choose different patterns.

In 1.8 the 16 pattern slots were always on the screen... you didn't have to open anything... this way was much easier.

Also... the Pattern Manager "Pop-up" is too big and covers a lot of the arrangement section.

The more I learn about 2.0... I'm finding out it's not so bad.

A lot of the old features are still there... there just done it a different way.

So... do you guys think the 16 pattern slots were better or do you like the new Pattern Manager?

Why couldn't we have both... the 16 pattern slots that are always visible for simply changing patterns on the fly and the Pattern Manager for a more advanced way to change your patterns.

This is a perfect example of... "They shouldn't have taken it away... they should have just added to it".

i think its more than 2 steps
    its 2steps for 1 action
its 20 steps for 10 action
    its 200steps for 100 actions
in older version its 0 steps for 1 action and 0 steps for 20 actiosn and 0 steps for 200actions.
for me this new view is good for a real songmode

Having owned a Maschine MK1 since 2009 I think the Maschine 2.0 way of selecting patterns in the software really stinks. It's not intuitive. There's an extra step involved. It's definitely not more efficient or easier than 1.8. It doesn't seem users were consulted on many of the so-called "workflow improvements" like this. I hope there will an update to bring back some of the old way selecting patterns and other things.
