Hi, I am about to buy traktor scratch pro. I am wondering if you can use mp3's and all the same files you can use with the cdjs on the turntables. now I obviously dont mean your turntables with original records. I mean with the records that come with traktor scratch. can you use mp3's on those?

Probly a stupid quesiton but im new to this

    Thanks.

so how does that work. you just put the records that come with tracktor scratch on the turntables put in the cables and jus like that boom you can use MP3's with the turntables?

you did use the word 'nut job' didn't you!

OK, Usinfg Scratch with TT's is basically the same as with CDJ's but you use Control Vinyl instead of COntrol CD's - funny that :p

The control Disc, or the Control Vinyl, sends a timecode signal through the Audio 8 / 4 which Traktor subjects to analysis, maps this back to track positioning with a loaded MP3 file, sending the output signal from a given deck back out through the Audio 8 via your mixer to your headphones and big fat speakers. And yes, it all happens in a matter of milliseconds.....

you playback a timecode signal from cd, vinyl or even a music cassette.

the software reads the timecode stamps every couple milliseconds for position and the frequency of the timecode for pitch.

the software now controls an audio file using this data.

    its really simple.

I too thought it was a joke question and I just loved the answer..pure quality anyway to the newcomer, welcome to the world of the professional dj. If you have a music file on your hard drive it will play it on the cd's supplied or indeed the vinyl. It will even play the same tune on up to 4 decks at the same time and if by chance you have an audio cd, if you pop it into your laptop TSP will play that as well..wonderful..I love it
