Can you use the Komplete Kontrol S49 Keyboard controller with other DAW's

    Hello I'm new to the world of controllers and their association with DAW's. I came across the S49 controller from an ad Guitar Center had on their website. I checked into it further and decided that it was a controller that I could adapt to quickly.

    Can the S49 keyboard controller work with DAW's like Logic Pro X and Pro Tools? Can it be used solely as a controller with those DAW's or do I need to purchase the Native Instruments software with the S49? I'm just looking for simplicity and if purchasing the software and S49 together makes more sense then I'll go that route.

    Any input would be appreciated as I'm still in learning mode.

    i suggest you have a look at NI's description of Komplete and the keyboards:

    there seems to be a more involved template in terms of using the keyboards with Logic X. this includes Start/Stop and Record using the Transport sec ion on the keyboards. as test this does not seem to be the case for Pro Tools 11 although you can still use the Komplete Kontrol software to open Komplete Instruments.

    for me it would make sense that you buy a package that has Komplete 10 and one of the S-Series keyboards.
