Ok so I've been reading about the perpetual loop which Service Centre seems to get into, and it seems that I'm suffering from the same problem.

I purchased Maschine yesterday and had to run the DEMO version until I could access the NI Website - but even now I can't activate it because Service Centre just goes into this endless 'self-updating' loop. There is another thread on here reporting the same issue, and someone saying that there are workarounds posted - if there are, I can't find them in this forum.

To compound the problem, I may have a faulty Maschine controller - as the displays are very very blue and very dark - no amount of fiddling with contrast and brightness can get them to display properly. Now I'm hoping that this is a driver issue - BUT - until I can get the damned thing activated I can't get the latest drivers !

I did raise a ticket last night with Support - I hope it hasn't slipped under the radar with the website update.

    Aaarghh !

As an update - I still get the same issues this morning.

Also, I've tried offline authorisation by generating a return file - this doesn't work either - when I try to load the return file into Service Centre I get a message to say that the authorisation failed.

The message says to see "Detailed Message below". The detailed message is "Maschine -> Authorisation Failed" - very detailed !

My reply from the other SC loop thread:

"In my case the endless self-activation/restart cycle occured since NI's server was down (well, it still is). The Cancel button didn't work either. I had to to disconnect the ethernet cable in order to stop the cycle and to get in offline mode. In this way I was able to send NI my system ID by mail. Now I'm waiting for the activation codes. Hope they can sort it out, soon."

    Thanks Snurb.

Another thread suggests deleting the Service Centre folder and reinstalling from the NI Website installation. I've tried that, but without deleting what was there already. I'm going to give it another go tonight and see how far I get.

I'm really hoping I can get this sorted soon, as I'm worried that the display issue I have on the Maschine MAY be a hardware fault and I only have a finite amount of time to return the unit. Hopefully it will be resolved with the drivers, but I can't tell until I can get authorised !

Confirmation that I got this to work last night by :

    1) Uninstalling existing version of Service Centre.
    2) Manually removing the application folder for Service Centre from Program Files.
    3) Downloading the latest version of Service Centre from NI Website.
    4) Install and Run the new version of Service Centre.

It updated twice and then let me register fine. I am now a very happy 1.0.3 Maschine user !

    Steve.
