To my knowledge, DUO versions have the recording feature disabled, it's a limitation of the cheaper version.

Duo 2 has the recording feature enabled in previous versions it was not available.

My set up up is 2x1210s; Stanton SK 1 mixer , using a windows laptop.

Ive set the record function to internal so that it uses that to record from - is that correct as im hoping to record direct onto the laptop that im running traktor on.

The REC button just doesnt seem to be active

    Anything else i can provide

    thanks in advance

The "thingy" in the header is the RECORD INDICATOR
The RECORD BUTTON is on the Mix Recorder panel
    -> see pics

Wasn't aware of that, now is maybe worth buying Duo versions.

You can't record using Traktor when using timecode since you are mixing externally!

You will need to run the output of your mixer back into your computer and then use a program like Audacity to record.

    This is not true.

You can route the output of the mixer back into the same audio interface Traktor is using and then configure this input as external recording source

Guys I haven't connected an output from my mixer back into the audio 6 unit could this be the issue.

Would I then set the source to external within traktor to record.

SOrry for the stupid questions I'm brand new to The digital game.

And count zero yes I'm mixing with the turntables

    Please help

Ahh yes as long as you have a spare input to route the audio.

Yes that is exactly your problem. How are you supposed to record an audio source if you haven't routed the sound back in?

I was scratching my head a little getting this to work recently, also being new to traktor. What I done was connected up a set of phonos from either the record out from the back of your mixer or if doesnt have a dedicated record out you can use the booth output to the phono's in on the front of your Audio 6.

I then setup preferences to the following :

Output Routing > Mixing Mode > External

Input Routing > Deck C > Main Left & Main Right

Mix Recorder > Source > Extern
    > External Input > Input Deck C

I'm not sure if this is the best way to go about it, as I'm still very much a noob with Traktor myself, but it worked for me, hope this helps.

    Cheers,

    Dusty.

Dusted & the rest thanks for your helps guys this sounds good.

the only thing im unsure about is this bit

Input Routing > Deck C > Main Left & Main Right

Mix Recorder > Source > Extern
    > External Input > Input Deck C

my decks are connected to A & B?

    sorry ?

sorry to add to this in terms of the recording level do you just control this via your mixer e.g. if im using the rec output then just ensure that i dont go into the red on the output indicators?

Guys got it sorted at last.

It was a mixture of not connecting the output from the mixer to audio 6 but also didn't know that the record button was hidden.

Thanks dusted for the mix recorder settings as that worked fine.

I assume therefore that I can use this method of recording to convert some of my vinyl that I just haven't been able to download.

Thanks again for all your help. I would be struggling big time without this forum.
