I have recently purchased BANDSTAND and mostly use it as a plug in for Digital Performer. It works just fine (if a little CPU hungry) in this mode.

However, I cannot get it to load a midi file as suggested in the manual.

I click the top left icon in the "player" section and this brings up a directory window. I select a standard midi file here and click "open".

    Nothing happens.

When I press the "play" button, I get the message: "No MIDI file loaded!"

I have referred to the NI knowledge base. Here I find another user with the same complaint, and the tech has provided this response:

"Please verify that you do not have special characters ([]|{}?@äöü) in the hard disk name OR folder name which contains the MIDI file."

None of my files or folders contain any of these characters.

Can anyone help here? Am I doing something wrong, or is this a known fault?
