    Hello,

I'm having trouble removing the data that Traktor has put in my mp3-files.
The data I'm talking about is things such as beatgrids, tempo, etc.

Traktor Pro refuses to analyze the mp3's which have already been analyzed once before. This is when I use the "Analayze (async)" option.

It does "try" to analyze, the progress bar comes up and all, but there's no change of the data whatsoever.

This results in me not being able to use sync lock in Traktor Pro because I've analyzed all my tracks in Traktor 3 (which didn't have the "Place AutoGrid Marker" option.

Therefore Traktor Pro refuses to put AutoGrid markers in the mp3's which I once analyzed in Traktor 3 (which are quite many). It also refuses to update BPM info (or any other info for that matter as far as I can tell).

I get the same problem if I analyze a FRESH mp3 in Traktor Pro with "Place AutoGrid Marker" option unchecked and then re-analyze it in Traktor Pro with "Place AutoGrid Marker" option CHECKED. It won't place any AutoGrid markers!

Moderator, I have looked around this forum for a few days now and cannot find a single post which helps me. I've found a few posts which addresses the same problem. These have however not yet been answered.

Please help me. My entire mp3-collection is basically corrupt because of "faulty" Traktor meta data. Data which I cannot find any way to remove at the moment.

    Thank in advance!

    Willem

Thanks rainerh, in worst case scenario I can always transfer my music to a PC and wipe it clean! A million thanks!

However, as you might've guessed by now, I'm on a Mac. Is there such a program for Mac as well?

Ah, I wondered what was causing this. I only wrote Traktor 3 tags out to a few files, but I notice that Traktor Pro reports an error that it can't write to some files and now I realise these are the ones I wrote tags to in T3.

So, unless I use some hack to strip the tags from these files, T Pro can't work with them?

If so, I'm off to report a bug!

Ah, that might be the problem. However Traktor hasn't given me any errors (maybe I've turned errors off?). My friend gets errors when trying to analyze some of his files, might well be the files which contain Traktor 3 meta data.

I hope this bug gets fixed asap. I do not wish to migrate my whole music collection to a PC to clean out all id3 tags and then back to my Mac again. it would ruin my structure in iTunes to say the least!

Shouldn't a lot of people experience this problem though? I mean, over 90% of the Traktor Pro users ought to be previous Traktor 3 users which use their old Traktor 3 analyzed mp3's.

Maybe the problem lies in that I did not import the Traktor 3 collection, I just imported the same mp3's from iTunes.

    Moderator, anyone?

Well, in Traktor 3, you had to force it to write out file tags. Otherwise, it just stored the info in it's own collection files (meta data style), and didn't modify your audio files. So, you could analyse your entire collection without having Traktor modify a single file unless you explicitly told to.

I only have a few files affected this way, as I experimented with the 'Write ID3 Tags' options a few times but couldn't be figged with it...

That's very odd! I never actually used write to id3 in Traktor 3...

I have tried sending an mp3 to a friend and have him import it into his Traktor Pro. His Traktor Pro also recognizes the mp3 as analyzed.

So it's definitely stored in the mp3 meta data even though I never used write to id3 in Traktor 3.

    Any moderator able to answer?

    Now I have:

    1. Bought a portable hard drive. (Ouch!)
    2. Moved my music to a PC with Windows via the portable hard drive.
    3. Downloaded the "free" AllFrames MP3 Tagger
    4. Bought the full version of AllFrames MP3 Tagger because the free version cannot batch delete Traktors Tags
    5. Tried batch deleting the Traktor tags and realized that AllFrames Tagger is inept to do so because it cannot perform a batch delete on private "frames" (i.e. Traktor's Tags).

    So my options now are:
    1. Manually remove Traktor's Tags from all of my music files and import them back to my Mac (not really an option since it would take several hundreds of hours to do so).
    2. Hope that Native Instruments improves their Traktor software soon or that a Moderator suddenly appears in this thread showing me what I've done wrong.
    3. Kill myself.

While none of these options are particularly appealing, I'll probably go witjh option #2.

Any moderators care to touch this thread/issue?

Any solution to this problem yet?

Hey there. I have the same issue, just want to re-analyze tracks and Traktor Pro won't do it if they've already been analyzed. It's driving me crazy. The simplest example is after compressing or expanding the grid, not liking the results, and just wanting to go back to the originally detected tempo that you can't remember specifically. Any help is appreciated.

I don't know if this work, but dl and install foobar2000 (http://www.foobar2000.org)

Add all tracks (drag & drop) to foobar2000 and select them (CTRL + A)

Right click on any file and choose Properties

Right click the <TRAKTOR 4> meta tag and choose Remove

Try it on a small (backuped) amount of file first, before you run it on your entire collection.

    This is for PC...

Can you choose and edit properties for multiple files?

The next 1.1 version of Traktor Pro will have an option to remove Traktor Specific data from the tags.

Thanks for the tip on foobar, but it didn't seem to work. I feel like I'm being punished for using Traktor 3...

    Hi Karlos

This doesnt appear to work though as i did this last night and i still can't play my tracks in ableton ! Thats my main gripe at the min. Although after reading in here it explains why i can't delete my messed up beatgrids and start again.

Has anyone come up with a solution to this.

If i turn off analyse on load or set beatgrid but then manually analyse ie right click async will this then not write to the actual mp3 but still allow me to store beatgrids and cue points ?

    Many Thanks
    Gavin

Just incase anyone is interested here mp3tag will strip the tags from files and you should be able to do it in batch also.

I tested on a coupel of files last night and its completely stripped teh file and now allows to be played in Ableton !
