    Hi all,

After updating to Komplete Ultimate 11, I've been having a problem with Kontakt.

Using both Native Access *and* Service Centre, I thought I had updated all version of Kontakt to 5.6.5. But when I open my DAW, the version is stuck on 5.4.1.211. The standalone is showing up as 5.6.5.

Now whenever I open my DAW, I get error messages telling me to update my version of Kontakt as it is too old to run certain plugs( Kontakt Library Vintage Instruments Organs, or Hammersmith Piano, for example)

Each time I run Native Access or Service Center, I am told my products are up to date, with no other update options available.

The new Komplete Ultimate 11 hard drive does not come with individual installers, only the Native Access installer, so I can't find a way to install Kontakt on its own and then run Service Center or Native Access to search for updates

Any tips of hints will be greatly appreciated

    Regards,
    Nick Andrews

(PC, 32gb Ram, Win7 Pro 64bit, DAW is Reaper, soundcard Dante MY16)

Try going to Service Center, to the Overview tab, then open up Kontakt 5. That will probably show something highlighted in red -- a component that has been moved from where Service Center expects it to be.

Thank you Mr Das. Yes, I have done that and it reports that *standalone* Kontakt is not where it expects it to be. I am just not sure what that actually means in relation to being unable to update the *in DAW* version of Kontakt.

Please find screen cap attached and many thanks for your attention

Right. Use that Locate button (on the right of Versions) and point it to the standalone application (wherever it is). Once that's resolved, it *should* now understand where all necessary parts are, and hopefully running the latest Kontakt 5 updater will bring everything in sync for good. (And it should remember it from here on out too.)

If this doesn't fix it, then I would recommend uninstalling Kontakt. (Simply google for native instruments uninstall instructions.) Uninstall it completely, then reinstall it (via SC or Native Access, either one), then you should be fine.

I shall follow those instructions and report back.

    Again many thanks.

    Hi again,

Well, I still cannot update my in-DAW KOntakt to 5.6.5.

Thank you for your suggestions. I have sent a support request to NI. But after being put on hold for over an hour on an international call line and then being disconnected, I don't hold out much hope.

    Best,
    na

It might be the case that the updated Kontakt .dll-plugin files were installed to a different folder (which is not used by your DAW). So try to do a general file search for 'Kontakt' on your computer to find out if there are any Kontakt .dll-plugin files located in a different folder. If that's the case you can copy the newer plugin files to the right plugin folder (used by your DAW).

Since you're running Windows you might also want to have a look at Ultimate Outsiders plugin tool to check install paths: http://blog.ultimateoutsider.com/2015/01/coming-soon.html

Otherwise you can also try to download and install the latest Kontakt update directly from the download area (after you login with your account):

@ Solger.........You sir, are an absolute genius.
    Both those links have
    FIXED THE PROBLEM!
Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU!!!
    And THANK YOU AGAIN!!!

Such an easy fix when you know where to look . That Ultimate Outsider plug in tool is a thing of beauty. And finding that NI Update page ion the NI site is like opening a Russian Dolls. I actually couldn't navigate to it via the web page as I kept getting redirected to Native Access installers. Very frustrating. In any case, thank you once again for the great response and all the best for the holiday season!!
    Cheers, mate.
