Here is what I ended up doing:

Downloaded the mac version of factory library. Transfer the installer from my Mac to my Win machine using ethernet cable. Extracted the ISO using winISO. Ran the .exe file. Opened my native access to recognize the content installation. Too much work!

Wow, this wasted hours of my time. I reinstalled my computer and didn't want to download Damage, a 25GB sample library again since my connection isn't very good and despite corrrect location in Native Access, it refused to recognize the library (I'm running Win10 btw). I love NI but this is absolutely ridiculous. So downloading a previous version of Kontakt it is... (glad I found this thread or I would have wasted even more time, since I was mucking about in the registry and managed to get Native Access to recognize it but not Kontakt).

Are you aware that Native Access only allows you to write capital letters and numbers??
when the serial number contains a combination of lowercase and capital letters, the new update will not allow you to add the library,
how can I write lowercase letters???

Are there any serials containing lowercase letters out there? Haven't seen one so far.

I'm surprised you didn't know, Soundiron has made about a dozen libraries specifically for kontakt 5,

I know that the serial number scheme was expanded to use letters. Just thought they were all uppercase. If that's not the case, then for sure that's a bug in NA then.

Similar issues here on the Mac OS 10.11 with the latest Kontakt update. I'm trying to install 3rd party libraries via Native Access (SonicCouture) and use my other libraries on a different drive because I have huge amounts of them. I try to point to the directory where the unzipped installs are located as it requests (folders containing the 3rd party samples and instruments as installed) , but it says the "Library path is not valid"

check if the folder you're pointing to contains a library_name.nicnt or library_name.info_nkx file

if it's not there or if it's in a subfolder of the one you're pointing to this might be why you see this error

    Hi all,
    1. Native Instrument serials and Kontakt library vendor serials (which also are created by us) should always be used as upper case - in any case we don't distinguish between upper and lower case in serials. This is why in Native Access we automatically convert anything you type or paste to upper case.
    2. "Add Library" doesn't work anymore with our own libraries - it only works with 3rd party vendor Kontakt libraries. We know this and we will be working on a fix which allows you to re-add NI libraries in Native Access. That is, if you bump into the special case of wanting to re-install NI content libraries which you installed on an external hard drive - but no longer have them "installed". For now I'm sorry to say the only workaround is to download and install the libraries again - sorry for the inconvenience.

Thanks! This did indeed work. I downloaded 5.6.5, and had to go back and forth between NA and the Service Center a few times before it seemed to recognize and authorize my Libraries ... but now I seem all set, and am thankful to be able to use NA to download the other NI programs I need to reinstall after my system re-install. Still a bit nervous about upgrading to the latest Kontakt, but I can live with 5.6.5 for a while, until I see evidence on the forums that the newest version is OK.

Thank you for this. I moved it up one folder directory and BAM.

I have the same problem after a malfunction with Evolve R2. It started malfunctioning because I needed to do a registry hack when contact 5.6.0 as released and the registry wouldn't update, so I needed to remove the keys and reinstall, but I used a guy's method that also completely removed my library installation conditions. So I had to re-authorize everything. It mostly worked

Because I updated evolve to 1.7.0 afterwards Tis caused some patchs to show the error "this patch is encrypted and can't be read until the license is correctly installed".

So this is a whole long story where I arrive at wanting to reauthrize evolve.

    1. I can't because add library only asks for a serial number, if I enter my evolve serial number, I don't see it in the library list. If I load evolve instruments manually some of them still show the "file encrypted" error.

I'm gonna try to reinstall the entire library, see if that works.

So what is considered a NI library, stuff like rise & hit, evolve, damage ets ? Are heaviocity and galaxy your "second parties"? But tina guo cello installed the same way. I was under the impression that every NI library had the "add library" feature, and vendors like 8dio are 3rd parties

'Add library' doesn't work properly with pre-installed 3rd party libraries either as far as I can tell?

I simply want to add a library (the new version of SoundIron's Requiem Light 3.0) and now get NA loading up asking for a serial. I put it in, NA says I have Requiem Light installed already. So I removed the old version from the library tab, try to add V3 again and same thing. Now I don't have any Requiem in the library tab, NA says it's installed, and I can't add it as it keeps going around in circles.

Back to 5.6.6 for the moment

    Same Here

I had a n issue with my Macbook Pro and had to reinstall a clean os. Re downloading libraries from Native Access, is an exercise in pure frustration, ESPECIALLY when the libraries are sitting right there on an external Haddrive! the Kontakt Library alone is over 25GB Native access is currently telling me it will take 154HRS. and Im on a decent connection. Even the Smaller 2GB Libraries take 40 minutes. Its not my connection.....tested that

So I either downgrade, add libraries, then upgrade again. OR bust out the DVD's and go that route. when the libraries are RIGHT THERE on my harddrive. Good lord that's ridiculous

Sorry if this was already covered: I was troubleshooting Rise and Hit so I removed it from the Libraries window and came across this issue when trying to re-add it. I found that they added a "Libraries" section in Preferences and you have to check the libraries you want displayed in the Libraries tab of K5.

I noticed that as well, but im finding that only the libraries that are or have been reinstalled with native access show in that list. My Kontakt Factory library does not. BUT...its sitting on an external harddrive ready to go. but NI wont let it in! I tried downloading from NA, but the install failed twice , so.......Ehhh

I am having the same problem. Yes rolling back to a previous version of Kontakt once again allows adding of the libraries without needing to use Native Access. But this HAS GOT to get fixed! It is not a permanent solution.
There are libraries that don't even require a serial number and never have and the ONLY option Native Access gives is to enter a serial number and if you don't have one it just does nothing. NI, please let us know this is going to get fixed ASAP?
Plus Kontakt 5.6.6 isn't even downloadable under legacy. Only like 5.3.1. Why?

Those libraries are not even supposed to be registered by Native Access, or added via Add Library function at all. So that's all good.
