I just got bit by this. OS drive failed and NI is the biggest pain to get reinstalled. How much longer will our only (terrible) option be to redownload everything that we already have sitting on another drive?

have folks been successful by simply erasing your exiting NI sample content (or moving it to a different folder, etc) and downloading it all again via native access?

the issue with that method is simply the (large) amount of time required to download everything, right?
or are there other catches and hiccups that i'm missing?

I believe it works if you redownload everything. Unfortunately, data caps exist for some of us. That means time+data quota. At my download speed it would take multiple days and no one would be able to use the internet during that time. NI is actually preventing me from getting back to making music. :(

    Follow these steps:
In kontakt, go to options. Its on the top right corner, the small circular gear thingy
    Go to libraries
Check if its showing the library you want to add
If yes, just check mark the library.
If no, go to database and add the folder in which the libaray is located. (eg. HZ01 is located in Kontakt LIbraries/Percs/HZ01 so i add the percs folder in the database.)
    Now click on update.
its gonna scan for a while. Now it will be showin you the library in the library tab after the scan is done.
Now just check mark the respective library.

    PS:
In some cases even after you check mark the library, it will show you the tab of the library in the loader but will tell you that the library is missing, just click on locate and locate the library, you are good to go.

Very frustrated having to use Native Access to re-download library content I already have. Home PC is on a very slow link. I am forced to download on a laptop at work first.

Just built a new system. Totally tearing my eyes out thinking that I was probably the only person on earth that was experiencing this issue.

At least we are all here together: in hell.

I have tons of libraries just sitting there, unrecognized by Kontakt 5. This is a total mess.

Has this been rectified yet or should I stay at 5.6.6 on my mac? (I did the mistake of updating my PC unfortunately) I have a slow connection so I have no interest in downloading all these huge libraries again (and my HD isn't that big either, so sometimes I change my mind with regards to what sample libraries I have installed)

Nope. Button says "manage libraries" and still takes you directly to native Access -_-

I was having this problem trying to add a ProjectSam library. ProjectSam's instructions are outdated and say to click "Add Library", but that button doesn't exist - as you say, it's "Manage Libraries" and it takes you to Native Access. Turns out you can install it through NI Access - enter the Serial from the third party library and Native Access will recognize it even though it's not a NI library. Then you have to click on the library and browse to the directory where you've saved it to show NI Access where to install from. Finally, click Install and it will add the library to Kontakt.

Sorry I don't have the exact steps/screenshots- not in front of it right now.

I have a support ticket open with Cinesamples. I bought their Cinewinds PRO before it was a Kontakt LIbrary, so I never received a serial number for it (instrument patches were always added via the Files tab). Now, with Kontakt 5.7.1's lack of an Add Library button, I'm stuck. :-\

I'm still having an issue with this as well. I bought a Sonokinetic library and Kontakt will not recognize it for the life of me, it won't even add it in a legacy version (5.5.1). It acts like it's going to, but it never does, never visible. Now it's saying (when I try to add again)..."already exists in the library tab...." but it's invisible, can't find it anywhere.

In case this Sonokinetic Library came with a serial number, try this:

    1) Open Kontakt Standalone
    2) Go to File > Options > Libraries
    3) Search for the Sonokinetic Library entry and make sure that the box next to the library name is checked and enabled

In general, the [Add Library] button (in the Libraries Tab) was replaced by the [Manage Libraries] button.
And if the Kontakt Library doesn't have a serial number, you'll have to load it in Kontakt via the Files Tab or Quickload.

Otherwise, did you already have a look if there's any useful info on the Cinesamples Support page? https://cinesamples.com/support

Having problems with Native Access' "Library path is not valid". I deleted the folder (Tina Guo Legato) and redownloaded the rar files. Pointed the browse folder to where it was unzipped and NA still gave me that same error. I've spent a couple of hours on this already and still not having success! I miss the "Add Library" button on Kontakt!

Seven months and nothing has happened.

I tried to approach this problem with an older version of Kontakt, using the uninstall reg tool etc. Cost me many hours. During the process updating Reaktor crashed with blue screen. Later I couldn't open Kontakt and other NI apps at all. No reinstall ever worked. So finally I restored my system drive from a complete backup. Now I am deleting the NI apps and libraries one by one with the reg tool and then downloading everything that is already on my sample drive once again. What a waste of time.

I have always praised NI for a reasonable copy protection method, and I have been very happy with the Service Center as one of the best solutions for keeping track of updating music software. That's all over. NI has lost a lot of my respect with the introduction of Native Access. It is leap backwards for user who keep large libraries of samples on dedicated drives and sometimes move the libraries to other drives. Not to mention that with Service Center it was easier to keep backups of the apps too.
