I've had Technics M5Gs all the time - paired mostly with Pioneer mixers (DJM-800 / -2000)
Used them with the Audio 8 for years until I switched to the internal interface of the MP2015.
Never noticed any change in performance.

How do you nudge your turntables?
I have found riding the pitch slider to be way more accurate than using the platter's edge for adjustments...

Have you tried changing the needle weight?

How dirty are your dvs records? I’ve seen problems when the vinyl gets a lot of gunk on them also.

Thanks again for the info guys.
In the end I'm gonna try what NI said, I had the time to install 2.6.8 but the first thing I found is that any of my artwork is showed :(
Didn't have the time to try the DVS properly so I can't speak about it, maybe tomorrow I will.
I've been djing with real vinyl for decades and never felt the need for pitch riding technique, I heard about it when I was already using the classic techniques I was educated for years, you know, nudging the record itself, touching the label or turning the spindle gently for speeding up or pressing the platter or the same spindle or touching the label as well for slowling down depending on how you feel it at the time.
Not late for learning pitch riding if that helps with dvs but it shouldn't be necessary neither I think will solve the problem, I will try it once I run my Technics of course I have nothing to loose.

No, I calibrated everything before setting up the dvs system some months ago set the weight to the recommended by Ortofon for the OM Pro...I think it was 3 grams.
Another thing it won't hurt to try wen I'm in front of my turntables, thanks.

Got one of this and clean the records and needles all the time when djing, it's an adquired habit :)
Didn't you post in another thread saying you had same problem with dvs as mine, can't remember surely if it was you man.

I did. Was just throwing the cleaning thing out there. Before I started having problems with my home dvs I was playing at a bar with someone’s setup and was having some problems mixing. That turned out to be dirty vinyl. There is something definitely wrong with one of the last updates with traktor. A lot of glitches when I run dvs. If I unplug dvs traktor runs very solid. Haven’t had any of these problems with traktor dvs until the last few years running on the same setup.

I have used above techniques for almost 2 decades, as well.
I have recently started using the pitch slider for nudging, though, and I highly regret not using it earlier.
For my style of music and mixing (mostly long blends) it works so much better for me.

I did mix a few tracks after reading your post and found that with nudging the traditional way it seemed to be a lot harder to get the phase meter centered (vs riding the pitch) - that's why I came up with that.

Another thing that has driven me crazy for some time was a slightly warped tc record. I did not notice the little warping and had trouble mixing.
Maybe that's another thing to look at...

So yesterday I had the time to test and I did what NI support asked, downgrading to 2.6.8 didn't work, phase drifting most of the time and even another problem arised, any of the artwork tags were showed in this version :(

I would try the needle thing but they are quite expensive just for trying if in the end don't work so I'm a bit trapped there, I could order a couple of Shure M-44 which are 10mV and good price but I don't want to be trapped (again) and not finding needle replacement in a year or so.

For Everton Dirlei worked going from 4mV to 7mV which is not a lot but how I can be sure? I have Ortofon Pro which are 5mV and it doesn't work as didn't work Pro S for Everton which are the same 5 mV.

The most affordable concorde now are 6mV which might not be enough, from that the other ones at 8 and 10 mV cost an small fortune same for neddle replacement every year or so.

I guess I'm just thinking out loud guys, if you got any suggestions...

I have the sure white label and believe they are 6mV. I’ve been using these forever and my problems started a few years ago. So unless the software needs 7mV plus now then the concordes 6mV won’t work either.

It would be nice if there were in the Traktor software a way to amplify the beep coming from the needle. I looked in the manual of my audio 6 interface and I found something about it but could not access the configuration it shows in the manual.

I think they deactivate that on purpose so there's no duplicated controls and that leads to more trouble.

I had the same idea as well, I'm gonna try to rise the volume of the USB inputs of my mixer which are regulable to see if that helps, decks signal goes to the analog RCA inputs first and I'm not sure if they go then to the mentioned USB inputs but I'll do it anyway when I'll be back to my djing room.

NI don't state anything about required power for needles or cartridges and I believe that it depends on the cartridge built and quality as well, I mean that 7 mV might be not the same in a cartridge than another even if it's the same spec so is gonna be always a matter of trial and error which is awful cause you just can't order all kind of cartridges just to see if TRAKTOR goes well with them :(

Interesting that competing softwares, like the virtual dj (considered inferior to the traktor) has timecode signal adjustment controls, including gain.

Wow, that's a lot of adjustments mate, I think is quite possible that we could solve our problem in a couple of minutes and play with whatever needle we got even if it's crap, it doesn't mind because is just to reproduce a tone?

Ok, so after downgrading to 2.6.8 by NI's support requirement and having exactly the same beatmatching problems they now ask for the same screenshots that Everton was asked, I'll take and send them during the weekend when I'll have time to do it and wait for NI's response. I'll keep informing this thread.

Did you fill a ticket for support? I don't want to tell anybody what to do but that helps to tell NI that a lot of users are suffering the problem and maybe they take it more seriously in future versions and learn from our experiences that something is actually wrong with TRAKTOR timecode, besides that, Everton found a way to workaround the bug by doing it.

I will. I don’t think they are going to put any effort into it. With the new Traktor coming.

Even if it's gonna be like that, it might help so they don't keep that bug in the new version and they try to don't reintroduce it on it. Just imagine you pay again and find the same timecode problem.

Yeah that would suck! But aren’t they building from the ground up? From what I’ve read, everything is going to be different in a different environment. I doubt that they are going to use anything from this one. I’ll put it in just to see.

If NI don't acknowledge the problem and continue blaming our needles and computers, anything can happen, timecode technology has seen little change and advance in almost 20 years.
