    Hi Folks

I downloaded some Absynth user patches from NI site when i first got Komplete 6 and they display and are available.... no problems. However, the issue is that now, because I don't use them, I want to remove them completely from displaying. How do I do this?

Every time I select the directory in the general options tab, delete and rebuild the database, it keeps reappearing. How do i get rid of it?

(I don't want to move/delete the original folder on my HD as I don't want to run into the "samples missing" problem...)

Any help would be appreciated. thanks. I've enclosed a screen shot -- it's the second sample dir (D) I want to remove.

    Thanks.

    ?

If you're getting rid of the patches anyways, why are you hesitant about removing the folder?

thanks for reply. Because I thought there was some bug re missing samples and didn't want to create any additional issues, hence the hesitation. Anyway I've moved the folder elsewhere, (and rebuilt the database) and guess what it still loads the samples anyway? How can this be?

I've even checked the NI Common Files folder to see if somehow the patches I want removed have somehow got copied into it... they haven't.

Now I'm really confused. And the dir as the screen shot in my original thread is STILL THERE!

    Any explanations/ideas? Thanks.

    ? once again

If you don't have any patches that use those samples, how are you loading them?
Also, after any major alteration of paths, etc; reboot your machine after making the changes. A lot of those things get saved with Windows shutting down, and not the app itself.

Thanks ew. I've rebooted and the link remains... thanks for your help, I've put the folder back in its location and am going to forget about this for now. Otherwise I'll get obsessive and create more angst rather than just ignoring it. After all it is working....

Is it just me or do other people get neurotic about minor computer/software abnormalities? I've just spent an hour attempting to find out why it seems to be taking so long to log into my computer? I think it's definitely time to switch the computer off and go out for a walk. Thanks anyway.

The samples directories don't have anything to do with sounds appearing in the browser. To remove the sounds from the browser, under Options->Browser select the appropriate directory and click remove. Or just move the directory someplace where Absynth won't look for it.

Unfortunately removing samples directories has a bug. There isn't a good way to remove the directory. What you could do is use "browse" to select another directory, for example the default Absynth samples directory. This will not affect sample loading at all. Or just leave it as is.

Another way to incorporate 3rd party samples is to drag the 3rd party samples directory into Abynth's main samples directory. This way you don't need to mess with the options everytime you try someone's sounds.

    Thanks, Brian =)

That's what I do; have them in their own subfolders in Absynth's sample folder. If it's not usable, etc; I just delete the subfolder.
