Can't edit Akoustik/Elektrik Piano UI in a Kontakt Player bank

I'm looking into using the Kontakt Player 4 engine for Elektrik Piano and Akoustik Piano. I'd like to put a bunch of presets in a bank and switch between them with program changes. The problem is that when I try to edit the preset properties, I get "This instrument is locked and cannot be edited."

I did find one workaround:

1) Edit the instrument in Multi mode
2) Save a new preset
3) Delete the old version of the preset from the bank and load the new one

It works, but it's pretty annoying. It would be great if I could edit the instrument directly from the bank UI.

On a related note, is there a way to display the instrument UI when in bank mode? If not, this is a big limitation when playing live, since I can't see what values all the knobs and switches are set to.

 

The Kontakt player isn't meant to have the editing functionality of the full version. What would be the point of that? It's designed to be used with samples and instruments designed specifically for it. So to do what you are trying to do, you need the full programme.

 

I'm not doing full editing at the sample level. I'm just turning the knobs and sliders in the high-level Akoustik Piano and Elektrik Piano UI's. Kontakt Player lets me do this in Multi mode, so why not in bank mode?

Can one load banks in the Kontakt Player 4?

 

You should be able to do it by clicking on the "File" icon on the main UI screen. It looks like it's grayed out, so it took me a good 10 minutes to realize that it's there. There's definitely a "new bank" menu option, probably a "load bank" too.

Is no one from NI willing to chime in on this issue? Seems like an oversight, rather than a necessary limitation. Would be great to have this fixed.
