I have Traktor v2 PRO installed and I am using a Hercules RMX, I have downloaded a .TSI file that comes with a PDF showing what to do, I have followed the instructions but I am yet to have sound outputting in my speakers or headphones.

When I open Traktor I have to import the file to get the new GUI each time and when I do I can use the Hercules to change everything like volume, pitch etc etc so it has connected to Traktor but it just isn't giving out sound.

Do I need to use more than just the USB that connects to the PC? When I use VDJ all I use is that cable, can I do the same for Traktor?

    Help is much appreciated!

    Hi,

you have to set the output routing manually.
go to preferences>audio setup and select your Hercules (ASIO driver)
then go to preferences> output routing and make your settings there for the master (crowd) and monitor (headphones)

When I go to output routing the only options that come up are output 1-4, i have managed to get sound working when i plug in an rca cable but I want it to run with just the usb cable

when you don't want to connect a sound system to the hercules the only way of gettin' sound is to use the internal soundcard of your computer - but why ?

The main advantage of your Hercules is the fast and reliable ASIO sounddriver.

Also when I use the skip function it doesnt skip forwards or back a bar like it did in VDJ, is there anyway to make it do that?

You know, there is a recording function in Traktor...

You can always change the mapping to suite your taste and needs if you're not satisfied withthe assigned fucntions.

This is my output settings atm when the hercules is plugged in with just a USB cable. The volume bars at the top are outputting the sound but nothing is coming out of my speakers.

How can i change the mapping to make the skip backwards and forward function skip 1 bar?

    Your help is much appreciated!

Just realized that if i plug the headphones in i get sound, so just need the speakers to work as well!

And this is when you select the Hercules ASIO driver in Audio Setup ?

In this case, as mentioned previously, be sure that your speakers are connected to Output 1/2 on the back of the Rmx.

You have to look at it logically: You are telling Traktor to use a specific soundcard (in this case the Rmx), but are expecting the sound to come out of your computer's soundcard...

As for modifying the button mapping, you may want to read section 13.19 (Controller Manager) of the user manual which will give you the basic understanding on MIDI mapping and the various functions.

Hey thanks alot for the help, i can get it working if i plug in speakers to the hercules rmx but when i choose the soundcard on my computer as the output i get sound through the speakers but i cant get the headphones to work.

The output monitor and output master options i get are speakers L and R and SPDIF L and R.

    Your help is much appreciated!

Also in the controller manager it doesnt help me in changing the skip function to a bar... I really dont know how to change the settings for it.

Your computer's soundcard only has one output, which is why you can only have either the main mix or headphone.

But again, I don't understand why you absolutely want to use this soundcard when you bought the Rmx which includes all the outputs necessary, and will give you much better performances.

It is so I can output my sound from the Hercules to teamspeak 3, also where exactly can i change the midi settings for the skip function to skip forwards and back 1 bar? I can't find it how to do it atall and i am desperate to start using it :p
