After having a bad install disc, I downloaded and/or ripped all the discs to ISO and have them on local storage. All are readable. The installation disc runs fine and loads all the programs. It then fails to find the Battery Disc. It doesn't matter if I put it in a DVD drive, if I have it mounted as an ISO before the installation beings, if I mount it when prompted, etc. It can't then find any of the other discs either. So basically, I don't have the bulk of the library content installed. Just what comes on the main installation disc. All that registered fine in Service Center, so there isn't a S/N problem.

I have installed dozens of music packages successfully, several much larger than Komplete, and I don't understand this. I've even gone so far as to change the drive letter so that it appears at the same drive letter that the installer started from, thinking that maybe it was looking for the same drive letter. How can the installer not find content that is already mounted to the filesystem?

If anyone has experience with this, I'd be grateful. Support won't be open till Monday.

The exact error is "Disk not Found". It then gets stuck in an endless loop of prompting me to insert the Battery Disc even though the ISO is already mounted to the filesystem. Why would it not recognize a partition that is already mounted? I am ryunning as "administrator" with all UAC turned off.

Hi, Niversen77. Did you ever end up finding a solution to this issue? I'm having this exact same problem and have tried all the fixes I've been able to find online and in the NI forums.

Can you please post more info about the problem like:
    • What operating system are you using?
    • Is the problem also with Komplete 9 (or a different Komplete version)?
    • What fixes did you try already?
    • and so on ...

Hi solger! Thanks for the response! I'll thoroughly outline everything here.

    My system and software:
    • OS: Windows 8.1 - legitimate copy
    • Computer: Lenovo Y500 gaming laptop (quad-core i7, 16GB RAM, 256GB SSD w/ 1TB HDD, dedicated GeForce GT 650M GPU).
    • Komplete 9 - using the .ISO files downloaded from my NI My Account page

Where I've gotten successfully so far:
    • I started by mounting the Komplete_9_Installation_Disc.iso to the Windows Explorer Virtual Drive.
    • When the disc image opened, I ran Komplete 9 Setup PC as an administrator.
    • On the Custom Setup screen of the InstallAware Wizard, I selected only Applications for install as VST, and I disabled installation of all Content as well as RTAS/AAX versions as I only need VST.
    • All of the plugins installed correctly
    • Service Center then opened where I verified serials and downloaded and installed updates for all the installed NI products.
    • I then restarted my computer to complete installation of some of the components.
    • After restart, the plugins themselves work fine.
    • I remount the Komplete_9_Installation_Disc.iso to the Windows Explorer Virtual Drive.
    • This time in the Custom Setup Screen of the InstallAware Wizard, I enable Content/Battery/Battery 4 Factory Library (I've also tried Content/Kontakt/Kontakt Factory Library) and I click Next.
    • The NI Komplete 9 install wizard Status changes to "Installing Battery 4 Factory Library" (or "Kontakt Factory LIbrary" if I've chosen those components instead).
    • A separate install window appears specifically for the Battery 4 Factory Library install.

    Where the problem arrises:
    • At this point in the process, a small window appears titled, "Disk not found," which says "Please Insert Battery Disc." (or "Kontakt Disc A.")
    • I right-click on whichever virtual drive I'm using, and I "eject" the current disc.
    • I then mount the Komplete_9_Battery_Disc.iso (or "Kontakt_Disc_A.iso").
    • Once mounted, a window appears with the contents of that disc, assuring me it has mounted correctly.
    • I then click "OK" on the "Please Insert Battery Disc" prompt.
    • The Windows error sound plays and the "Disk not found" prompt reappears. I'm unable to move past this point.

    Fixes attempted:
    • I've set my User Account Control (UAC) to "never notify."
    • I've disabled Windows Defender and any anti-virus and firewall software.
    • I've tried running setup as an administrator as well as without administrator privileges.
    • I've tried ejecting the current disc from the virtual drive prior to mounting the next disc, and I've tried mounting over top of the disc without ejecting the first one.
    • I've tried the process using Daemon Tools instead of Windows Explorer Virtual Drive.

Please let me know if you have any other questions about the process or the issue I'm experiencing. Any help getting this all up and running would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Have you checked if the same drive letter is used when mounting the next ISO into the virtual drive?
So you installed as example only the Battery application + Battery VST plugins, right?
If that's the case try the following for both Battery and Kontakt:

    (1) Uninstall the single application (Battery or Kontakt) first
    (2) Launch the Komplete Installer and select just the application + plugins (Battery or Kontakt) and the corresponding Library (Battery Library or Kontakt Library) for installation
    (3) Only install updates after the 'basic' installation (2) of the application + library was successful.

You might also try using another mounting tool like:
Or maybe try to mount all necessary ISO-images at once ...

Otherwise, if you haven't already, contact NI support: http://www.native-instruments.com/en/company/contact-ni/

Thanks for such a detailed response, solger! Yes, I made sure to use the same drive letter when mounting the next ISO. I also tried mounting the next ISO on the Windows Explorer drive and Daemon Tools simultaneously just to be sure it would find it wherever it tried to seek the file.

Thanks for the clear instruction for this suggestion. I tried this one out, but I still get the same error where Komplete is unable to detect the next disc.

Thanks for those links. I gave these a shot, too, as well as Virtual Clone Drive. I also tried mounting all the necessary discs before beginning installation. But alas, still the same result with all these different programs. :-/

I contacted NI support, but so far they've just suggested I unmount the ISO before mounting the second one... so it may be a while before they catch up and understand everything I've tried, even though I sent them the same information I sent you. Perhaps you should work for NI support since you seem to have a better idea of what's going on than they do. ;-)

It looks like I may end up having to buy an external DVD burner, get some DVD-Rs, burn all the ISOs to discs, then try installing them that way. I'll update in this thread if I find a solution that doesn't involve that process. Thanks again for all your help!

Well, since it seems that mounting and accessing the ISOs on their own seems to be working, it doesn't look like that some of the downloaded ISOs might be corrupted. So I guess burning the ISOs to disc is probably your best option.

Although you might also try to do a system file scan: http://www.thewindowsclub.com/fix-unable-mount-iso-windows-8

I agree, I think the ISO files are probably fine themselves, it's just something with the way Komplete is interfacing with the virtual drive. I'll try that system file scan you linked to. Thanks again for your help!

    Hi Joshua,
Just wondering if you figured this out? I'm having the same issue.

    Ok!
I figured this out with some help from a thread on Gearslutz.
Extract the contents of the .iso files into a folder. I used pismo file mount. There are other tools that will work too.
Make sure the contents of all of the disks you need are in the same folder.
    That's it!
I hope this works for you too!

Thanks for posting this, fiddlefro! Sorry for my slow response - I just returned from a trip where internet was non-existent.
I ended up buying a USB DVD drive and loading the rest of the discs that way, but the next time I have to do an install I'm going to try this method! I'm glad you found a solution, and thanks for sharing it!

It's a damn shame that we have to depend on each other for help. Once again Tech support was useless for this answer. But fiddlefro thanks, your suggestion worked perfectly. I didn't have to download PISMO because windows 8.1 allows you to mount iso files anyway but it wouldn't mount everything to one drive. SO I mounted every to it's own separate drive and copied all of the content into a folder on my Desktop. Pressed the installation exe in that folder and it installed the whole komplete 9 faster then any other time before. Around 15 minutes total on an internal SSD

    Thanks again!
