Hi, I'm using OSX 10.5.2 and the latest kontakt 3.0.

Of course upon trying to open my intakt and kompakt files I got the message that the content wasn't authorized and I need to open the applications at least once. So I got my komplete 3 install disks and installed intakt and kompakt, and opened each one. (I had already authorized komplete 3 again because I had installed spectral delay and vokator).

Kontakt 3 will still not let me open kompakt or intakt patches ven though komplete 3 is authorized and I have opened both apps.

Any thoughts on how I can resolve this? It's content that I own and use and I don't think it's right that I suddenly can't access it.

    Thanks for help,

    Rob

This may not be of much help to you specifically (because I'm running Windows Vista), but it may help in the diagnosis. I have both K3 and KOMPAKT (although not KOMPLETE), and I am able to load my KOMPAKT patches in K3. So evidently there is no inherent problem opening KOMPAKT patches in K3. This would suggest that your problem has something to do with K3 not recognizing the authorization through KOMPLETE.

Sorry I can't suggest anything to fix it...anyone from NI listening?

Rob, this is probably something that NI should address directly. You should probably contact them to open a support incident... ;)

You might need to update your permissions lists if your on a mac. But write to the dudes in Berlin. There super helpful and will have you up and running in no time.

Hey guys, thanks for replies. I have now sorted it out by contacting N.I. support.

For anyone with the same problem, it's worth writing to N.I. They sent me a new content.plist file to put in my preferences (replacing the old one) and everything worked after that.

Also worth noting is that once I had it working, I deleted all intakt and kompakt files, assuming that this content preference file was all that was needed. However, the libraries would no longer work, so I put files one at a time back into the appropriate places. It turns out you need to keep you kompakt/intakt system preference files as well. Just the ones like "kompkt.plist" in your preference files, but you don't need the actual programs or plug-ins. This is on a mac anyways.

So just keep the content.plist file and those two preference files for kompakt and intakt for backups and you shouldn't need to reinstall the actual programs to use the content.

    cheers
